Beardown, I think your misguided. Does Harry drive a vehicle for ESPN? No, so why can't he talk on the air. Did Harry get hammered on ESPN's dime, or at an ESPN event? Probably not. Has Harry been convicted of anything yet? No. You are the Roger Goodell of CSFMB - guilty until proven innocent.

Fine. I'm just sick of living in fear of Chicago sports media people every time I'm in my car. Maybe the best thing would be if a coked up Mike Adamle crashes into a drunk Harry on an intersection in Evanston as they both head home. Take them both out. I know that sounds harsh but it's better than them killing some innocent mother, father and/or kid.

I'm a writer, I know dialogue and that's particularly harsh.

Come on Grid, conviction or not, I suspect Harry drives over the legal limit regularly. He is lucky he has not injured someone even with his tolerance.

He has a problem. The Sox thing wasn't dealt with properly and this appears to be going the same way. He will continue to drink heavily and will eventually drive drunk again....

I was working on some real estate deals with that crazy broad. She seemed a little strange, but I wouldn't have figured her for a killer. She claimed to be Gayle's girlfriend but I could tell she was way more into him than he was into her. Still, I think he was nailing her. I think the cops and prosecutors think so too.

I remember when I heard Gayle's girlfriend got killed and I thought it was Marni. When I heard it was some other woman, I told my girlfriend I bet Marni did it.

yeah i am sure 200 square feet of patio decking is going to really fuck up the water table. what does that have to do with a fence again? i don't feel like really talking about it.. i find the subject boring, but 99% of people who pull permits do not live on flood plain..and who would fence in flood plain anyway it is useless property.

Would you consider yourself one? You didn't take his keys or call the cops on him and he was probably over the limit.

You can't make anybody change especially when it comes to this type of stuff. As an employer I probably would have offered help after the Sox incident, he'd have refused, and I'd have fired him after this. It's unreal how much he stands to lose if he hurts someone.

ESPN is an enabler. They would have blood on their hands if he kills somebody. Not just because of this arrest but for a decade of knowing he's a drunk and keeping him employed. Maybe they can't fire him or suspend him before his day in court, but how many times have they renewed him knowing he's a reckless drunk? 3 or 4 contracts at least, right? Maybe if they don't renew him with a "sober up" message as they shove him out the door, he changes.

That was him representing ESPN in the Sox clubhouse, Grid. It was an ESPN credential. Though it hasn't been said, I have reason to believe he was drunk when he fell off the horse. That horse ride was on company time. My sources tell me the horse spelled booze and asked out. Then Harry whipped the horse telling him to dummy up or his father would make glue of him. Poor horse.

If everybody here has a "Harry was drunk" story, how many do his co workers and bosses have? That's a lot of looking the other way. ESPN and it's parent company Disney is putting society at risk by enabling Harry. That can't be disputed.

I just worry about driving under bridges, ever since that Dave Matthews incident.

Not that every employer should be responsible for every drunk, but a major radio station, owned by Disney should not have somebody like Harry employed for 10+ years without at least offering him rehab. He's a public figure in a big city and they just turn a blind eye. They renew him every time he's up. Doesn't matter that he keeps making the papers for drunken behavior.

Who said anything about a water table?

This is too funny! But it reminds me of one of my friends who worked at the stables on Harms Road. One night she and a couple guys were knocking a few back after work and they got the bright idea to take some horses out. They were pretty lit up and they rode the horses into a neighborhood in Morton Grove. They were turning them around in a cul-de-sac and a cop pulled up. They all got tickets for RUI- riding under the influence.
