I hope Thompson is good on the long term. But, putting these short-term sample size guys in the Hall of Fame is comical. Ryne Sandberg, Ron Santo, Billy Williams, Fergie Jenkins quality guys don't fall out of the sky.

Coomer used to talk about taking long walks in road cities. He doesn't talk about that anymore, especially in crime-ridden cities like Baltimore.

the 2nd time in 8 days where the cubs had an opponent's runner DOA at the plate and contreras screws up the play. this week, he couldn't catch a the accurate one hop from hoerner's super relay. it wasn't like the ball hopped 2 feet in front of contreras. of all teams, the orioles with a total disrespect of cubs' defense and it paid off. the runner was out by 20+ feet. next time hoerner, throw the ball 220 feet straight into the glove.

gets more days off catching than ever and is more lazier & lackadaisical than ever behind the plate. last week, contreras didn't want to bend down and tag the runner's foot. cubs lost that brewer game by 1 run.

The baseball gods have spoken. Ross can stick it up his ass for trying to start Heyward again tonight. Now they are 1 day closer to activating Suzuki and no one got hurt tonight.

Will be made up Aug 18 at 2:05 PM.

Odd time for an East Coast game. Those are usually at 12:05 PM and shit.

I'm amazed teams like Baltimore pitch around him (2 walks). Pitch to him like a pitcher with high heat and the occasional curve to twist him like a top from being so far behind the fast ball. But too many curves and he flips it over the SS when he's not fooled. But, he should never walk.

He gave a thinly veiled ultimatum that he needs to be on the field to improve his hitting (ha-ha) last week. I don't think Ross will totally sit his butt buddy 106 games left. I could see Ross putting him out their ¼ of the time. And I think the unthinkable could happen seeing him as a DH.

What a story. Worst contract in Chicago sports history. One of the worst swings in MLB history. Best buddy manager beholden to him for upgrading room to a suite for a year. There's a gag order on him because he's a SJW. You'd think someone made it up.

Cubs are at Nats before that. So an easy bus ride.

With Contreras signing for the rest of the year he'll make about in his Cubs career what Stroman & Heyward make in a year.
