You won't go to a Sox game soon anyway. Why worry about what might happen to somebody else's phone number?

I don't want a call. I don't need to know if anyone is sick. And I don't want anyone to know if I'm sick. It's not their business.

I'm not making a big deal about it. They can run their business the way they want. I can find other things to do.

I'm not sure why objecting to their bizarre COVID "plan" is making you this irrationally angry, but have at it.

How is the plan bizarre?

All these plans are bizarre. Look you can't eat in a restaurant indoors, you can eat outdoors though, in a sealed, heated tent... indoors.
You can sit in that indoors tent without a mask to eat, but you cannot sit in an outdoors stadium that holds 47k, but only admits 12k, but only with a mask when you're sure to be outdoors 6 feet from anyone which was the original requirement.... 6 feet.
Initially masks were riskier because people fiddled with masks and caused unintended exposure, now we are starting to see requirements that we wear masks in unintended ways which certainly won't cause them to be fiddled with.
None of it makes much sense.

Clearly it's objecting to the practice, and to the creepy oversight of "contact tracing". What's the next step? Mandatory quarantines and fines? This is all performative claptrap that doesn't make anyone safer.

There are zero penalties for failing to comply with contact tracers. At least as far as I know.

I don't know if there are yet, but I know that the city set-up cameras all over to send tickets if you go 6 mph over the speed limit. So that's usually the next step.

Honestly i'm kina surprised they aren't requiring proof of vaccine, proof of recent negative test, or even a temp check

What evidence is there that COVID is being spread at outdoor events? None that I know.

Why 20 percent? Seem arbitrary.

The other measures are for show. Cashless transactions. What evidence is there that it's spread through the surface of money? You can eat food made by a worker but don't use cash? It makes no sense.

And the contact tracing part is creepy, and it will be misused by the government if we passively accept it.

Have you seen the video of the lady in the drive thru with no mask? They won't give her the food and offered to HAND HER a mask in order to HAND HER the food.

I don't disagree, but I don't think thats a Cubs or Sox thing.

Either way, you have to give them your ph# and email address to get a ticket anyway. If people like Jorr choose not to attend a game for the time being, that cool.

As long as the rest of us can go out and enjoy a game, everyone wins.

And really, did anybody expect that it would be a free for all at Cubs/Sox games right away? I figured there would absolutely be limited exits/entrances, pod seating, etc. Similar to what NFL teams had done this past season. My one hope was that masks would not be required when you are in your seat.

I doubt it will be this way all season. I bet by August it could be nearly 50% attendance. Maybe slightly less at Wrigley only because its a smaller park with fewer entrance/exit options. IMO 50-50 on masks going away this season, as much as that sucks.

I'm sure he will. They're holding my money from last year. I just don't have any interest into attending games under those terms.

It's a small price to pay to see baseball for the first time in 2 years. I've worn the placebo for a year anyway. Now, I just have to wear the Party approved placebo. As far as privacy, there hasn't been any since the iPhone was invented.

Make foul pole to foul pole maskless. There's concessions and restrooms out there, and you can enter at LF and exit at RF.

Building on this... why do we limit the number of doors into buildings during this pandemic? Seems bottlenecking more people into smaller spaces is the wrong thing to do? Why not have all exits open?
When I go to woodmans, they have hand sanitizer and wipes at the entrance to wipe down your cart handle but they absolutely expect that you leave your cart at checkout and take the one the last customer left. It's faster sure. But it forces us to take a cart that someone else was handling for the last half hour.
Teachers who aren't going into work are getting vaccines before workers who enter several homes a day and are constantly exposed.
And we're ranking just how essential people are based loosely on their professions.

Honestly, I'm surprised there hasn't been a fire that results in MANY deaths because a door is locked or chained due to not being allowed to be used.

Unfortunately, there will probably be some issues with people telling on other fans for not wearing the masks.

When you give the "wear the mask, unless you're eating or drinking" a lot of people (including myself at the office) take that as a sign to not wear it at all when i have a drink at my desk (always)

I know it says actively eating or drinking but people will leave it off. Hopefully the tattle tale types will just stay away.

When in your seat, outdoors, and at least 6' away from other people (you could probably easily do 10' at most MLB parks), a mask shouldn't be required anyway.

This. I can sit in front of my big screen tv (no pants on of course), wearing no mask and eat and drink freely while wearing a baseball game.
