Who are they and where did you meet them?

1. Ron Howard (Director) - Met him by chance on the West Side of Central Park in NYC. He was just walking through Central Park on a Saturday morning with a female friend when I ran into him. I couldn't believe it.
2. Klaus Maria Brandauer (Actor) - Met him after his reading of Viennese Coffee House Literature at the Alter Oper in Frankfurt, Germany. Very pleasant but had obviously been drinking.
3. Anatoly Karpov (World Chess Champion) - Met him at the Sheraton in Oak Brook during a youth chess event. During a Q&A session I asked him what it was like meeting Bobby Fischer.

I've got stories, but only can share over PM. Most likely I have more stories than JORR.

George H.W. Bush. He came to our High School in 1988.

Seemed like a nice guy.

Interesting picture of all the popular, good-looking gals in my Senior class smiling and holding up a BUSH sign in our yearbook.

Lots of politicians as a teenager and in my 20s. Mayor Sawyer was the most well known, although many of the aldermen came into my dad's place before the City Council would meet.

Jesse Jackson a couple of times on flights, although he liked the front row of first class and I prefer the last row of first class.

Non-politics, Michael Wilbon and his family on a London flight during Wimbledon.

I met Jackie Mason at The World’s Largest Office Party at the Hyatt in the mid-90s.

Wasn’t that memorable.

I’d have to imagine his base-line was pretty low - even if he was getting paid to be there.

Ralph Nader asked me to vote for him in 2000 at Northwestern. I laughed in his face.

Blago showed up at Poplar Creek Bowl during leagues during the 06 reelection campaign. He asked for my vote. I said no.

Met Robert Patrick from NIN/Filter while meandering on the floor at Rosemont during the Family Values 99 tour.

I got an autograph from Milo Hamilton after my WMU Broncos beat the Blue Demons in Kalamazoo.

John Coolidge Adams or John Luther Adams? They've both won Pulitzers.

I've never heard anyone refer to John Luther Adams as John Adams, nor have I ever heard anyone refer to John Adams as John Coolidge Adams. There's a reason for that.

I parked Michael Flatley, John Cangelosi, and Mike North’s car. I bused the table that Ted Nugent was at.

Kevin Van Dam, Martin Truex, and Johnny Morris were in a boat fishing next to me last summer. I talked to them about how nice of a day it was.

I would bet money that Bob Odenkirk was our server at Ed Debevic’s back in the 90s. When he told the story of working there I immediately recalled the one time I went there and the very distinctive server we had which matches him.

did he make it sort of big in the 90s to be working there? He was a writer on SNL in the 80s but he had the HBO show in the 90s i think.

Martin Luther.

Not Martin Luther King but THE ORIGINAL Martin Luther.

Just kidding.

I ran into Peter Noone of Herman and the Hermits like 10 years ago. Very nice guy.

He talked about it with Mac and Parkins. This would have been ‘91-‘92.
