welp there's only one song that comes to mind now! england's mediocrity stopped being their strength and started being.... england! now the commentators on ITV are talking about how it's gonna be fun watching england get better. they needed to score another goal or two earlier when they had the swag... ah well, at least gareth sold a lot of dignified vests in the UK =P (and, of course, i've been taking the piss with the over the top FOOTBALL'S COMING HOME stuff.... i never thought i'd see england in WC penalties.... but that's because i never thought they'd get that far. now i've seen them win penalties and lose in the semis. I’d argue the penalty that led to the first goal was a bigger problem but the French guy sure sold it. I don’t like the penalty kick format but it is what it is and these guys know it. Keep your arms closer to your body in the box and you remove the possibility of getting that called. |
