Glad to hear this, Doug....meanwhile....Libertyville is saying "go elsewhere". I think Grayslake also was saying no. Antioch....morons...their dragging the feet on a decision. Credit for Mundelein for paving the way.....and this does absolutely nothing for me, as I don't smoke. |

Mundelein already has the ordinance and zoning in place for the medical dispensary. This was a formality. The three younger trustees voted in last election made it happen. Mundelein needs the money. There are way too many abandoned store fronts. It's the drive-thru to Vernon Hills, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, etc... The "pro-business" mayor has been anything but. In fact, it's so bad at the corner of 45 and 60, that the fucking Arby's is closing!

They built a Panera just to the west of Arby's where the pizza hut used to be. Oh, I've been to that Arby's Steve. Grayslake, Libertyville, Naperville, and Lake Zurich all voted no. Although Grayslake did decide to sit on it a year and see how it goes. The GTI dispensary company indicated that they would be able to provide Mundelein with at least $1M in added revenue every year...which would basically resurface 10 streets. Save it for 4 years and you can get an overpass/underpass across the CN line. Mount Prospect Committee of the Whole meeting is tonight. |
