The same win in 2025 is a really fun win for IU, no doubt, but it's irrelevant on the national landscape because OSU likely makes the playoffs with even three losses in most years.
IU beating an undefeated or even one loss OSU team is going to be the lead story on the national landscape. Just last weekend, Auburn ALMOST beating Alabama who is almost certainly not making the CFP was a dominant national storyline. Yet, IU beating OSU is going to be ignored?

This post almost certainly didn’t age well.

All four teams are conference winners, the shittiest conference winner got left out. Go back to battling Franky Low T for the worst lawyer title in the 815.

That was a bullshit decision. I think you have to put them in, even though they would get destroyed.

Well there are only two of here so I guess one of us has to be the worst.

Vaccinated Bob has the worst sports takes on the board and he's calling out SS for his.

Clearly they shit the bed sooo...tough shit.

No no--I agree. I think they are one of the four best teams, but they had their chance and they blew it, putting their fate in the hands of a committee.

Of course, there should have been more trans women on that committee, IMO.

How so?

The odds were very low for Alabama as I said. It didn't mean it was impossible.

Obviously the odds weren't that low, essentially Bama had to beat Georgia and they were in. You know how they most certainly would not have been in, losing to Auburn. In 2025 they could loose to Auburn and Georgia and likely made some 12 team playoff.

An undefeated 13 win major conference champion just got passed over for the first time in history. I thought that was unlikely.

I'll also say that it is even better evidence of the problem with the 4 team playoff. I guess going undefeated doesn't matter either in regards to the playoffs.

Bama +200 / +1.5 (+2.5 at some books early) and Huskies +750 / +4.5 ... gotta grab the Bama plus money now. Washington-Texas line will probably move closer to a TD.

Michigan 2 TD's yesterday barely added up to a 1st down:

I wonder if that goes significantly down as Georgia players opt out.

A quick search says that some are now entering the transfer portal.

I know it is considered lame to criticize the transfer portal and NIL money, but something has been lost. I know I am setting myself up for some drive-by CFMB poster to strawman me about how I want some idyllic, never-was days to return, so kindly eff off.

Man, that's so lame. What's lost? There's playoffs and then there's exhibition games. Tell you what, there's a NBA in season tourney you can paint your face for.

Fuck off

Tony Kornheiser called the four playoff teams two weeks ago. He said that there was no way the committee (and the television money) would take FSU over Alabama if Alabama beat Georgia.

Power Five doesn't matter any more. SEC and Big Ten are all that matters going forward, look at 1-12 in the final rankings and see which conferences they will be in for 2024.

Then don't perpetrate a fraud with the previous weeks Florida St at #4 ranking. They don't get honest until the final week?

That's true. But I wish a Big Ten team besides Ohio State would actually win it all sometime.

Also:

Shoutout to the Inebriated Rodent, who is taking yours truly to Vegas to see NU play! He's got the money for it, and he wants to take the board's third-biggest NU football fan (aka yours truly) with him. Good guy.

In the end, it doesn't really matter, but they didn't even get completely honest in the last week. If they are going "best teams", and going against 13-0, then FSU shouldn't be ranked 5. Georgia is better. With the FSU QB situation, OSU and Oregon are probably better. But no need to drop FSU that low.

Yes, unlike the gentleman scholars of the SEC.

If neither UGA or Bama get in, I’d bet good money some Representative calls for a congressional investigation next week.

Off on the details but directionally correct:
