Again, they were right there in the conversation for the tournament. Their game vs Ohio St was a play in game. If Indiana wins that game they are the 11 seed and OSU is in the NIT. They definitely had a chance.

Whistler, to answer your previous question, I own a SUV. Amazingly, they have a big road that goes to Champaign from Chicago. And they have gas stations in Champaign so you can drive back. Sadly, I don't make as much as some people here so I don't have a driver, which makes me sad.

IIRC (please correct me if I'm wrong) at the very least nobody was sad to see Bruce Weber go, and more likely people (fans/alumni/media) were happy to push Weber out the door. Since Bruce Weber left UoI, he has went 150-88 at KSU, 5 tournament appearances in 7 seasons with an Elite Eight run in there, and he's currently sitting with the #4 seed in a regional (against a frisky UC Irvine squad - WATCH OUT).

In comparison the Groce/Underwood combo has 1 tournament appearance in 7 seasons and nothing resembling an Elite Eight run.

The fact that that mother fucking piece of shit trashed what was on the verge of becoming an elite program has no bearing on the idiots who run things in Champaign being unable to hire competent coaches. In fact, he made their job more difficult and they lacked the intelligence to overcome the difficulties caused by Weber. Fuck Weber. Fuck Guenther. Fuck Mike Thomas. Fuck Wonderboy Whitman. I hope Weber gets run over by a bus and then rabid raccoons eat his intestines.

saw an article in the Tribune about Dosunmu staying for his sophomore year. Was that even a question. The times I saw it looked like he has plenty to work on. His dad was included in the interview for some reason. He used the word "we" in talking about going to the NBA...sounds like a real piece of work.

I was surprised by this, too. He made the big announcement last week, but he's not even close.

The word was that his Dad was a real pain in the ass when Ayo attended Westinghouse. They placed him on the staff for the purpose of having Ayo attend the school and once he got there he and Ayo kept up mess the entire year. It was one of the reasons that they weren't all that disappointed once he decided to leave Westinghouse for Morgan Park.

One of the guys that I am really good friends with wouldn't touch him because he had a rep for being a headcase with a lunatic parent.

my son has an application in to the school. They e-mailed yesterday as a thank you for applying that they have Illinois-NU tickets available for free on a first come, first served basis. Guess possible bowl eligibility hasn't quite moved the fan base.

If that is what you get for applying, I wonder what the door prize is for acceptance.
