Was hearing there has been a long standing feud with Kirk Ferentz and Derrell Johnson-Koulianos. Is that right? Could he not play in the Bowl game?

DJK has been in and out of the doghouse with Ferentz over the past few years. He's a very talented but also very out spoken player. He was a very active social media type too. Also, he's been one accused of being lazy in the offseasons and in practice which has led to many issues. Anyway, before the year there was an agreement between the two that DJK would not speak to the press nor use Twitter to report messages. There is some talk that DJK may have been pissed off about Colin Sandeman starting on Saturday over him despite being the Iowa all time top WR. I'm guessing if anything, he'll sit a few series and get to play in the Bowl. The time to really discipline him came and went.

Iowa wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos is being held in Johnson County Jail and is expected to make an initial appearance in the morning, according to a Johnson County Jail officials.

Johnson-Koulianos was arrested by Iowa City Police and faces multiple counts of possession of controlled substances, keeping a drug house and two counts of unlawful possession of a prescription drugs.

He’s being held in Johnson County Jail on $8,000 bail.

Johnson-Koulianos, Iowa’s career leader in receptions and receiving yardage, was a first-team all-Big Ten pick this season. He caught 46 passes for 745 yards and 10 TDs this season.

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz issued the following statement Tuesday night:

“I am highly disappointed to learn of the charges. Derrell has been suspended from all team activities.”

Update to the story is that 3K in cash, coke, mary jane and prescription pills were found in the house.

Wow. It looks like Iowa will do whatever it takes to be better than it's heated rival, Purdue.

It will make it all the sweeter to beat you guys and "do it the right way".

He should have been giving coke to the defensive lineman every 4th quarter this year. Now that would have made for a great season.

I'm not condoning what he did, but I read on HR that he was basically in and out of homes until he was 15. Kid had a tough life. Hopefully he can pull his shit together. He's got wonderful talent.

By the way, is there something in the wide receiver DNA that makes them fuck up more than any other position?
