Oh, and blue chew might fix those “clogged drains”.

The ads during an inning of a Cubs broadcast has about ruined what used to be a fun listen. Literally everything is sponsored, and it interrupts the flow of the inning.

I keep meaning to count them in one inning. Almost every pitch seems to have some kind of sponsor. It's shameful.

They must have thought this was comic gold. Played it at least twice today.
For the record, you don't need to shut off the water to clean the trap under a sink. Those guys are giving parkins (not incorrectly) shit for being a muttonhead but they were laughing at him for not turning off the water (you don't have to at all) and for not using a pipe wrench to remove the trap (you don't need to). Even if it was metal, you'd probably use a channel locks. Fuckin speigs was like "I used a vice grips" which probably means he had no idea what vice grips are.

How many times do you come across p traps that can’t be hand tightened?

I’d think you’re either doing something wrong or have the grip strength of a 95 year old woman if you need a wrench on a trap.

not gonna lie, I'm pretty worthless with this kind of stuff

luckily my wife is mechanically trained and minded. She's going to tell me what I should do anyway so it is good that she knows what she's talking about.

The Sox are almost as bad. I tuned in yesterday and heard Kasper say "there haven't been any Sox homers today, but if there is one, it'll be sponsored by Hard Rock Casino..." Just terrible.

Most have given up on the station, this has been discussed ad nauseum in other sections of the board.

Any WSCR discussion of substance at this point in time is almost always some sort of sad reflection on how much the glory days of the station are missed and how much station has declined followed by speculation about how/why they killed the golden goose.

Same here. She's the forewoman around the house, and I'm just labor.

I listen to several radio broadcasts on the MLB App, and they're all that way.

If you live in a house with women you are gonna have drain issues, even if you put the hair catching covers on your drains.

YouTube shows you how to do most easy cleanouts, but if you buy a small drain de-clogger to catch the stuff near the drain and then maybe a 8-10 foot snake, you can easily fix a majority of the clogs for twenty to thirty bucks, not real glamorous, but you quickly learn there are many hidden costs generated by women's efforts to look good.

I've got the 8-10 foot snake but I'm not sure how that's going to help me with the drain

Same. I can barely hang a picture straight. YouTube is a Godsend for minor repairs like this. For simple repairs there are generally several videos that will walk you through things step by step.

For years I've used a small sink plunger on drains clogged up with my wife's hair. It always does the job. I don't think I've ever had to take apart the trap.

This thing has always worked for me. What comes out smells like death, but it will unclog your drains from hair

Cleaning the trap on a sink takes a bucket and about 5 minutes. I got sick of that god damn sink stopper arm catching all the hair so I went with a push down drain stopper.
