Is this what Chicago sports radio has become? Listening to a moron describe the rigors of clearing a clogged drain was life altering to be sure. Are we really celebrating a guy who can't even think his way past a clog in a drain? Depressing.

Parkins revealed in a 10 minute or better segment that he, again, does not possess any common sense and that he's a fancy pampered white boy who never had to do a damn thing for himself ever.
I'm not sure why this was even considered fit to air. I think it might have been thought to be funny.
It makes parkins looking a hopeless wimp.
I used to feel sympathy for him because spiegs was kind of a dick to him early on but he's really leaning into the wimp motif.

Is this what they think represents their listeners? Based on their ads and their personalities and they way they deal with callers they think we're a bunch of fat stupid balding racist gambling addicted degenerates with too much debt that needs a heloc to fix.

The worst is when Shane is allowed to talk for 8-10 minutes most uninterrupted.

I like Tanny in general but when the four of them just “riff” about absolutely nothing for long stretches it’s some of the worst radio I’ve ever heard.

Isn’t Parkins’ schtick that he’s an ineffectual do-nothing? I haven’t listened regularly but I remember a segment with repeated call backs on his inability to clear the snow from his driveway.

Like LoHo, tremendously boring content. If I’m going big picture analysis, I think the inability to actually converse with people - as opposed to just waiting to talk - is why these shows suck. Their interviews suck, their segments suck…there’s rarely give & take when I listen. Just a lot of ‘my turn to talk’ content.

They are all worse than Harry. They are less masculine somehow if that is possible.

No it's true. Harry wasn't completely unlikable and was a good foil for Mac. Parkins is like an unlikable emasculated Harry. Spiegel is worse than them both. I'm so mad at Mac for giving us them. Yuck.

The sad thing is I love sports talk radio. I'm very much not in love with top 5 lists and comic books and fruity weirdos who can't shovel their walks for their pregnant wives and guys who weigh 400 lbs selllng say it with me now state of the art and bones pills and the constant gambling ads (if you have a problem call 1800gambler). The best show on the station is run by a guy who Tolstoys every question he asks. We spent 3 days talking about the 1-2 walk for God's sake.

Oh they're still doing those. They're just golf shirts now. Haugh was wearing a hue of pink twice last week.

...yet most of them also talk about their binge drinking and gluttonous eating habits.

It's kind of like when Fred simultaneously endorsed a diet pill and Dunkin' Donuts.

the fact christian maccafrey and justin herbert wear the flannels, really almost got me to look at their website.

when i first heard the SOTA weight loss reads i thought they were saying SODA which i thought was an interesting branding for a weight loss company. i'm sure there are plenty more fat employees they can go through for future weight loss ad revenue. Hi i'm dustin rhodes, you may remember me promoting a previous weight loss program, well they stopped buying ads and i got fat again so now im here to tell you about...

Definitely, but it should be noted that the boner pill and gambling ads may be the only things allowing 670 to remain an all-sports station--much in the same way that the early Score owed its existence to strip clubs (Heavenly Bodies....Yow!).

While I don't really remember the last time I listened to sports radio, if at all this year, I disagree. Harry was as bad as Tom Shaer, Joe Cain at 2am and Mike North after 98-99. But then again I never have cared for 90% of MVP.

Imo in part it's on the corporate bosses who let North run amok and Mac deciding that his flavorless interns and producers were the next wave. They weren't and his stick to sports mantra was a disaster.

And Joe Rogan made it big on the back of the Flesh Light. The Score should be able to find a new generation of ads. The base of Hoody Footy pajamas, Industrial Strip (you can smoke there guys!) and boner pills will always be there.

Hub has his faults. But he and Grote are the only 2 fill-in, or regular hosts left at the Score who aren't total trash. Only trash at ESPN 1000 are Hood, on-air producers, and the evening 6-9 whoever they are.

The ads during an inning of a Cubs broadcast has about ruined what used to be a fun listen. Literally everything is sponsored, and it interrupts the flow of the inning.
