The Masters, the PGA, The US Open and the Open Championship are all separate from the PGA tour. The Ryder Cup is separate from the PGA tour. If those events ban players because of LIV tour membership, that would make for an interesting set of lawsuits.

The PGA Championship has a stipulation that says a player must be part of a viable tour, is LIV considered a viable tour? I don't think they are currently because they don't offer world ranking points.

I thought I heard that the PGA and Ryder Cup were the tournaments that were in jeopardy for the LIV guys immediately. I don't know the stipulations involved. Obviously the PGA has no control over The Open Championship and The Masters is run on its own. I would think the USGA would side with the PGA Tour if pushed against the wall on it, but didn't need to make that choice this year. I do know that players that defect are not eligible for The Presidents Cup later this year.

Honestly the biggest surprises to me so far on this have been guys like Talor Gooch and Sam Horsfield. Really young still very competitive guys, other than that, none of them have. Add Ancer too, that doesn't make sense to me either.

And the plot thickens a bit..... I also thought they should get rid of all the events during the fall season. Never made sense to me.

So all those guys who motherfucked the other players for leaving actually are going to owe them a debt of gratitude and an apology .

So much for the "pure competition" the PGA offers. Or used to.

I don't like the "no cuts" part of the equation. The limited field thing is ok I guess if you are qualified in FedEx points. They are essentially trying to create mid-major championships, but what I don't understand is that I kind of thought that is what the World Golf Championships were for. Definitely confused and can't wait to see how the schedule looks next year.

LIV feels like a golf welfare state. A bunch of state sponsored golfers who make an assload of money regardless of whether they win or not. Encourages laziness and reliance on the government. Very sick!

I really enjoyed the Slime Cup this weekend. The PGA could learn a few things from them.

Felt bad for Theegala at the end yesterday. I can't believe he didn't just pitch out the first shot. Apparently he bladed the first shot which is why he didn't get the lift to get out.

Matthew Wolff is the latest who appears to be heading to the LIV. The first US event is this week out in Oregon.

He needed an experienced caddy to step in right there, he should have just blasted that out and made bogey at the worst.

I couldn't make out what they were saying but they were going back and forth about the shot for some time.

Caught quite a bit of the LPGA PGA Championship on Sunday. Was quite an entertaining finish. Maybe was my favorite golf tournament I watched this year.

Women's golf is a snoozefest.

Absolutely. Take your medicine, maybe get up and down for par, or take your chances with a bogey and a potential playoff. Bad break, but a bad choice on top of it.

Almost all golf on TV is a snoozefest (going to an event in person though is a true joy) but that women's final round on sunday was really entertaining.

I watch a lot of women's golf. It's actually a decent way to learn while watching as their swing speeds are closer to ours than the guys on the PGA.

You know Franky, it's funny. I was watching and the player who ended up winning, Chun, had such a wonderfully fluid and paced swing that it was almost as if she was intentionally trying to swing slow. I thought to myself, "Why don't I just do that?"

You mean you don't swing like this? Me neither.

I do occasionally watch the majors. You are correct that there is a lot to pick up from the women especially with their short games.
