Like Murph's big voice guy bump about Ed Lynch still being on the Cubs payroll... "And WDRV 97.1 is still on the chicagofanatics.com message boards!"

Can we bring back the 87.7 The Game's message board?

What's your beef? Who you crappin? Animal Stories! Chicago Ed, Chicago Ed, he fill your mornings and he feeds your head!

Sorry, having an antiquated Chicago radio stroke.

We should also have a board for XRT.

I wish we had a board for citrus fruit and citrus related issues.

Always loved WMET the birthplace of Two for Tuesdays. I sort of remember the WDHF letters when I read your post but not really.

I remember wanting one of these WMET t-shirts when I was in 6th or 7th grade:

I had a similarly themed poster in my room.

Ramsey Lewis is too good for "smooth jazz."

Well I want more real WBMX-FM talk. Not the abomination the Score advertises.

I don't understand why new ownership changed the calls when they did. You'd think they would have left them alone since it wasn't a dramatic overhaul of the format, more of a grow-old-with-your-audience change. But then again you had the Christian-teaching WCFL for a while.

The problem there was that in their desire to grow old with their audience, they cut out the very thing that made them wildly successful. Of course they brought mixes back years later because the now middle aged crowd is still right there clamoring for it.

I always think of WMET when I hear the drums kick in during the intro to Baba O’riley...they used it to showcase their classic rock chops in TV commercials back in the day. Great station. Bonus: Chuck Swirskey with the Bottom Line on Sports on Sunday nights.
