I don't think he'll stay quiet for long. He may give a long update on his podcast where he speaks slowly, doesn't mention any specifics or really says anything of substance, talks about how wonderful Dan is and how dynamic their relationship is because of the genius/creativity/critical thinking that they both brought everyday to the station as, for a period of time, as a powerhouse radio team.

He will probably say something like he could not talk about it for awhile because it was too hard for him.

Okay, listening to the podcast for I was curious how they would address Bernstein firing.

The guy was not bad, Leila, she sounded like she had to be reading from a script and sounded like she was choking up.

She kept repeating herself, saying emotions are high......then the guy started reading from a script and saying Dan was his friend and what a great guy...then Leila says she has to read the Illinois penal code and people venting........venting what?

No host now is bigger than the Score. Outside of Chicago and do to his Eddie thing with Barstool, no one knows who the hell he is.

This might be the worst tribute/addressing the issue I have ever heard. Now she is letting us vent again.

She did repeat herself over and over.

Not sure I fully understood the Illinois penal code update. Is she claiming harassment?

Both paid tribute overall. Nothing bad was said. Dan is/was amazing. No context as to why he is no longer there except how impactful he was.

She did seem to at least value the audience in between Illinois Penal code references.

Yep. Maybe another shout-out for the diversity of the Score if he addresses what's next. Everyone has a place.

Are people texting or calling this show? I get that some people may still just flip on the radio/stream in the am and leave it on 670 all day, and that some percentage of those may want to contribute, I'm just curious if either of the two current hosts have fans? As much of a douchenozzle as Bernstein was/is, I know he certainly had his fanbase that would chime in (though I'd love to know how many of those were not actual fans but Bernstein-created mults) ... anyway, is anyone tuning in for Leila or Marshall?

Admittedly I've not heard much of these two (together or separately), but Leila's vocal tone(s) is just awful to me - not saying it's her fault, but a tough listen for me in general (regardless of what she is/is not saying). Reminds me of: https://youtu.be/7GwxEQCdFnQ?si=HZOISxUGE8Ez4jvE&t=8

Interested to see if they shake things up or just let these two settle in as they're probably cheap and already there.

Harry, no one is listening, but everyone has thoughts about it.

Listened to transition yesterday and it seemed to me that Meatpants was congratulating Harris and Leila on their turn to do the show. It seemed to me he thinks they are moving forward with them. I sure hope not. They are brutal.

I am sure there will be any number of made up or sycophant radio caller/tester characters that will no longer be heard from. Amir, Bill in Captiol Hill etc.

They really have no choice right now even if it is just temporary or a trial run.

Yep, that's exactly what I heard also. He definitely seemed to be congratulating them as the new mid-day show.

THIS, along with the fact that she never says anything thought provoking.

What will you say when the mics turn on
No Dan Bernstein by your side?
You've been talking nonsense much too long
You know it's just your ghoulish voice

Leila, god you hurt my ears
Leila, begging, darling, stfu please Leila
Darling, won't you ease my aching mind?

I'm used to her voice now, but I think she had a sore throat or cold a few weeks back and that set me back.

I think she does try to show she's prepared, but then falls into the Holmes trap of over-stating very obvious things...but then when I do think she's actually prepared, she makes a horribly inaccurate statement and doesn't seem to be aware so I think she's got very thin knowledge that shows cracks at the slightest bit of any depth.

I texted in yesterday after that horrid interview will Elise Menaker. LR made her uncomfortable trying to play some radio mind game. She responded not everything is for everyone all the time
Ain’t that the truth! Mitchy better blow this crap up before Bears season

I heard that segment. It was a brutal hosting performance. I thought even Leila recognized it in the moment, but based on that text response perhaps not. Maybe she's pitching Mitch on circa 2007 cringe comedy as her aesthetic

She noticed and Marshall really noticed. I also think she knows they are done and trying to put a good face on but these shows are not helping to get a good gig somewhere

I think they'll continue to find places for Leila no matter how this experiment goes, but I've never thought Marshall Harris was doing anything but marking time between TV gigs.

Leila is fine as a weekly person or a fill in here or there. But she has no business trying to drive a show everyday. She is way over her head.

Anyone notice that the Bulls moved to 780? Flipped over to 670 in the car and I genuinely couldn’t tell if it was some MGM network bum or evening host bum…but it was just the rote “guy offering room temperature takes and gambling addict nonsense alone into a mic” in the mold of Bart Winkler. It may actually have been Bart Winkler now that I think about it.

Anyways, I’m not sure 670 WSCR is gonna make it much longer as even a shell of what we know it as.

she is moderately funny but thinks she is VERY funny, so the delivery is unaligned and if you don't "get it" then it's on you

audio-wise, even Julie was better sounding

as he should, he's good looking enough for TV

he probably saw this opportunity as a way to branch out. turns out he can't quite hack it, but The Score seemingly has little issue with amateurs using them to find out

 you're likely biased due to looks. Close your eyes, and Julie no longer sounds like someone eating food on the air, while Leila literally is

Nah he’s right DiCaro sounds better than Rahimi. It’s actually not close.

Cubs had a 9 p.m. game so they kicked the Bulls over to 780 to avoid any possibility of overlap. I do agree that the Score as we know it is nearing the end, though.

Julie sounded okay as long as she wasn't working herself up and tripping over herself, which became a constant occurrence. I don't know how but "finishing the last bite of a sandwich" actually is a perfect description of Leila's voice.

I do think the one station that is able to hang onto local the longest will then spend a good long life in a dwarf star stage, with enough combined listeners and talent to carry on until the end of radio

I think 720 will be the sole survivor of AM radio in Chicago, with 670 sticking around for a while before giving up the ghost. They're the two strongest signals of the bunch: 780 isn't even 50kw anymore, 1000 is absurdly directional in the wrong direction, and 890 has been spotty for years. Nexstar will keep 'GN running to keep up appearances of being civically engaged. I wonder if they still even do the farm reports.

Cumulus took 560 KSFO dark, a station that had been on the air for about a hundred years. I think 890's time is just about at hand. No one's listening and there's land to sell under it.
