By the way...I'm still an employee of the station until further notice. Everything is going to be alright.

That's interesting. Maybe they make him a Bulls reporter.

Oh so all the hand wringing over people “celebrating “ him being fired was useless. Cool.

Right. They are paying him to do nothing. Jason thinks that's a good thing. Jason is dumb as fuck.

I wonder if he went to Mitch’s office today looking for his red Swingline stapler .

He’s on his way to Vegas for the first two days of the tourney, I think he talked about it on air last week

it could be an HR thing that he'll be paid until the end of the month when his last check is cut. He's used all of his personal days off for the next 5 years. I can't see him having any position with the station. He's dead man walking who just got hooked up to the machine.

He's an employee the same way Danny Mac was a WDRV employee for another 9 months after he was taken off the air. He is just collecting paychecks that are still due on his contract, but he is not going to have any role

I know they're paying him until his contract runs out. They have to do so. Obviously. But the fact that they haven't told him he's gone is interesting. Usually they tell you that. Maybe they find him some role. Bulls reporter. Weekly guest as an NBA expert.

Then the contract runs out and he's gone.

Goff is going to Vegas this week. But he was talking about that on the air. It was planned already. So maybe Mitch told him to do his vacation and he'll work on something for his ass to do at the station.

Just saying, the way Goff wrote the tweets reads to me that Mitch is thinking about some role for him.

DeCastro: You win Jason. We’ve had it. If you leave right now, The Score will give you six months pay. That’s half of your entire contract. Please…just go.

Jason: You see if I stay the whole year, I get it all.

DeCastro: Want to play hard ball huh? Fine. (calls on intercom) Attention WSCR employees, Jason Goff's afternoon show and timeslot is now open to Dan McNeil and Danny Parkins.

Jason: Well played.

DeCastro: I’ll see you in hell Goff.

How radioactive was Jason's afternoon show that they'll eat two years of money to get him off the air?

Does he really have two years left?

I think somebody posted an article where he resigned last year for two years with the SCORE having an option on year two. So I think he just has a month or two left.

radioactive enough that an entire hour was commercial free. Selling commercials for an additional hour is more $$$ than paying him for 2 more years

This was November. So about 23 months left.

Makes you wonder if that was a marketing ploy or a lack of advertisers. Either way, not a good sign.

But it depends if the SCORE has options after year one and/or year two. That they would have to agree to pick up.

Larry always has to see if they pick up his option after every year. Then they renegotiate if need be. And they need to do so for Larry every year because they keep on getting more games at night. So it's less money.

Think about it. Goff had a three year contract. But what if it was really a four year contract?

Maybe because he's spiteful to people.

Yesterday's Feder column never said he was fired, but rather "sidelined for now". I took that to mean he was still an employee. Under what circumstance, I don't know.

I have not listened for over a month or so, but used to work in radio years ago. If true about 1 hour of non-stop talk with no commercials, thats not just a red flag, but the titanic sinking. Does not take a genius to know advertisers ditching the station.

My guess is rating and lack of advertisers is reason for the shake up, but am no way an insider at this station. IMO, give all shows a few weeks to work out kinks and then judge.

Yes, Goff and Spiegs are WSCR employees just as Mike Glennon was a Bear
since week 6 of last season.

Sounds like Spiegel will be the primary fill-in host now. Didn't Hanley have that role before Mully & Hanley started?
