I think I heard them discussing this this morning, that running backs who carry 370(?)+ times, have severely diminished production the next year... and that was the first I'd heard of it, though it makes sense, akin to 130+ pitches in baseball. I also think they said he had around 310 carries, and 60 receptions. It makes some sense to me, but have any of you heard anything like that elsewhere? |

L-Bomb wrote: FootballOutsiders.com has written about this before. They have, but this is one of the few areas where I'm a bit skeptical of their research. I agree that there is some upper limit around that range, but 370 isn't quite the magical number the make it out to be. Welcome to the board. |

Matt Forte's lack of production this season as a running back has been one of the biggest mysteries of the early going for the Bears. He was about 36% of the team's offense last year, and the only thing I could put my finger on is that Matt did so much of the heavy lifting as a feature running back & receiver, he's got little left already after a solid rookie season. |
