Finally people from Indiana will learn the Cubs exist!
Opening day has sold out. Merchandise sold at a very fast pace as soon as it became available. Big dough plowed into the facilities.
Northern Indiana -- at least east of the NW corner -- has always been Cubs territory as far as MLB popularity, with the Sox and Tigers trailing far behind. My next-door neighbors were flying a Cubs flag for years. You rarely detect support for other teams (although some like me want the Sox to do well too).
This will be a
very profitable association for the Cubs, but the bloom is likely to come off the rose eventually -- the same way the
College Football Hall of Fame finally dumped SB.
