With their current shortstop hurt, the Dodgers will solve their problems by trading for another player, who is always hurt. Brilliant logic, whitesoxbob. Keep em coming.

As Frank said in the Sox thread, it is way to early to make an assessment. But there does appear to be real major league talent on this team. The Cubs are most likely not ready for prime time. Still they are on their way to being competitive.

If you look at the Cubs roster how many guys are solid MLB players that will be part of the next great Cubs team. Looking at the roster I say a generous 8. How many "journeymen" or unproven I'd say 18. Numbers are getting better but guys like Kap (Hoyer's buddy) "I'm jacked" no way. Starters 3-5 is eh. Bullpen could collapse at any time. Classic .500 team. Right now a big yawn. Waiting for '24 for position prospects to start arriving.

They still don't have a #1 starter. Gonna be tough over 162 games with a bunch of #3 and #4 starters.

Game always has been and always will be centered around pitching . I dont care what your lineup looks like, if you have a bunch of stiffs toeing the rubber youre not going anywhere.

That is fair. I think Swanson, Happ, and Hoerner look like solid players. The jury is out on Suzuki.

Stroman and Steele are solid.

There is tons of work to be done. They will need a few prospects to step up, and they will have to add in free agency.

But this team has a much better vibe than the past few years.

Yet, he is still hitting .356...

Impressive win in L.A. I might have to start watching this team again. Plus 16 in RD.

Pitching and defense go hand in hand. Especially now that they took away the shift.

I just saw Taylor McGregor on the pregame not having to wear two layers of jackets. Compared to when she arrived in Chicago, she has cleaned up very well.

Missed yesterday's game. Just rewatched the bottom of the 9th. One out, men on second and third. Heyward of course pathetically strikes out ...two outs. Sutcliffe playing up Fulmer as Cy Young reincarnation. Grandpa Rossy doesn't load the bases with IBB for a force out at any base. Then throws Fulmer under the bus.

I do not like the walk to load the bases with two outs. An HBP or walk brings in a run. Much more likely than needing to record the out at a base other than first.

I believe the Sox walked in two runs yesterday.

The problem is they went into the season with no closer and now are using a career 7th-8th inning guy in that role. They think this is moneyball.

Peralta was hitting a robust .179 before that game winning hit.

Baseball fans always second guess. If they walked him, and then next guy got a hit, those fans would question why they walked a sub 200 hitter.

Paul Sullivan on with Spiegel called out Sutcliffe for giving zero analysis of Grandpa's Saturday bottom 9th options. Saying we could of used a Steve Stone here. Spineless Spiegel immediately changed the subject.

Why the fuck is Trey Mancini on this team? If you are not ready to bring up Mervis than bring up Morel and have him play 1st.

Sutcliffe quoted (drugs & sexual assault allegations) Ron Washington praising holy roller Dansby Swanson's high baseball IQ.

As well as the Cubs have played, their defense has been leaky.
