Cubs beat L.A. at Wrigley every year. In April or May. Same ol' fuckin thing.

Anyway, rainout today. Will make up tomorrow.

When Michael Hermosillo (career 174 .278 .311 .589 62) is a better match up. Have to wonder if there's something rotten.

It's a doubleheader, every bad position player will get in to one game or the other.

Didn’t realize Kershaw has the lowest career ERA since 1920.

55 pitches in the inning and one ball put in play. Gotta be some kind of record.

All the early season Score's Cubs flash in the pan darlings are hitting a brick wall.

Is JHK mentoring Michael Hermosillo's hitting?

haha, did pat hughes really think the cubbies had a chance in any game?

he had a nice line during game 1 - money can't buy you happiness, but, it can buy you the misery you want.

that's why he makes CDs and hawks them. he must want more misery.

Boog, Levine, Bernstein, Haugh were hysterically exuberant over improved pitch selectivity. Chase % 2021 28.2, 2022 27.9. Schwindel's habitual front leg collapse has returned. Now they're pushing Rivas & Thompson as golden. If Stroman has one of his meltdowns over social issues look for him to be elevated to god-like status.

I think he quoted "While money can't buy happiness, it certainly lets you choose your own form of misery" which I believe he attributed to Mark Twain but I remember it being a Groucho Marx quote.

If you ever have a chance to go to a doubleheader, don’t. Especially not a split doubleheader like the Cubs and Dodgers did today. Just an absurd amount of time & money spent. You will hate baseball before you decide to leave, trust me

Split doubleheaders are shit. All doubleheaders at Wrigley before early June are shit because the weather will be bad.

On the other hand, my favorite trip to Wrigley was around 1999, went to a summer Mets game with my dad where it ended up being a straight DH due to an April rainout. We had seats in 421 right next to the cameraman in the front row of the upper deck, and in those days you could bring as much food as you wanted. My dad cooked for us the night before and we had a blast.

CHGO hosts don't get press passes with free parking, food, and drinks like the Score hosts?

1st inning- Suzuki makes great adjustments including within an at bat. Strikes out.
3rd inning- Suzuki needs to make adjustments. Strikes out.

As much as I’m loathe to agree with that bag of shit Herb , he’s right. Split doubleheaders are one of the worst things baseball ever allowed to happen. Doubleheaders should go back to being the old way back to back with a half hour break in between.

So, Cubs being good seemed to buoy the Scores rating...will the opposite happen?

I have to assume that a random Cubs game will outdraw regular programming…but this is going to get ugly. The this team does not have it.

Well, at least Heyward got that one out of the infield.

We had this corporate co-ed soft ball league back in the day. I have never seen such a collection of athletically challenged men. This one guy could not hit the ball out of the infield. After two years he stroked a massive pop up that was out in the grass- the shortstop caught it two steps outside the dirt. And that is what I said- at least he hit it out of the infield.

Next 3 vs SD. I don't know if they can even one one game that series. Then another 3 vs the Dbacks. Dbacks are better than the cubs.

All these pitchers they are calling up all suck too.

They always lose in SD, even when the team is good.

Sounds like Stroman and Miley should be back for the Arizona series. Steele got skullfucked by the HP umpire on the strike zone tonight before he got that blister, but he pitched well. Rucker isn't a big league pitcher yet but they may as well keep giving him extended outings instead of going to retreads like Daniel Norris.
