I actually disagree with that. Hawk was all in with the Sox. He had credibility.

But with Schriffen, yes

On the plus side, Stoney doesn't have to listen to Benetti attempt to talk with half an Italian beef in his mouth anymore.

At this point I think I would prefer to watch Benetti read from the Bible while eating a beef sandwich on a loop than have to watch this current team and broadcast booth. Schriffen is still unlistenable and Stone doesnt have it anymore so it’s probably best they aren’t on anyone’s tv. There isn’t one thing this organization does that isn’t awful and there’s no hope in sight.

I wanted Benetti gone, and I fucking regret it now

I watched most of Royals at Tigers tonight, Benetti and Dan Petry are a good combination. Petry isn't as condescending as Stone can be, so I think he and Benetti have a smoother broadcast. And there is no Sox Math.

Petry is great. Or pretty good, at least. But Benetti is great at football and hoops--and baseball. With the Sox, he was just too cute.

Hawk spent the better part of four decades with the Sox.

If he can’t be a mindless homer, I’m not sure who can.

Here we go again. Now Wainwright and Benetti are gorging themselves in unison on the "game of the week."

Why didn't they sign some mid level players for 2 year deals? The offense is embarrassing

Stop. It’s fucking ass wipes like you that ran Benetti out of town and now we are stuck listening fucking high school level garbage. Benetti is a million times better than Schriffen. Take your misophonia and rewatch some of these amateur broadcasts on YouTube.

Steve Stone likes to say when a bum White Sox pitcher has a rare clean inning to paraphrase him "There's no reason he can't continue this success".

The Sox seem to be in this marathon day game every year.

Or maybe I’m just reminded of the Giolito disaster back when they were supposed to be a legitimate professional baseball team.

5-17 only 8 GB on April 21st. Colorado is 4-17 and 11.5 games out.

Quite the battle is brewing here.

it's really hard to believe there is a team out there worse than the Sox.

Dude no team can be the worst for multiple years in a row.
Then again I been saying nobody can lose 100+ two years in a row and we see how that worked out so... fuck me I guess

I guess the theory of AAA players who try hard being better than talented players who don't give a shit has not been proven true

Only the White Sox would keep trotting out Miguel Vargas (.117 career ba 214 ab with the team).

The run differential is so much better. I'm serious when I say just start throwing strikes and the wins will show up more often. As an example, Sox reliever intentionally walks dude in the 10th with one out to set up the double play or a force. He proceeds to walk the next guy. It's inexcusable and I don't get it why it's excusable. The kid should have had his head cut off on the mound.

They should give Vargas more time, but Ramos will likely get called up if he shows a pulse. Neither is likely the answer though.

Ethan Katz must be the new front office/ownership spy. There is zero reason this guy should have a job in MLB.

Brooks Baldwin sucks, and Jacob Amaya has like 13 total bases this season. Ramos can do no worse.

Jerry isn't even trying to put MLB caliber guys on the field. MLB should step in and take the team away from him.

You don't see many non pitchers like Vargas in White Sox history with 200+ ab hitting .117. They never make 200+ before their dumped. Martin Maldonado is at .119 but below 200 ab. Hard to find others besides these two.

Best D-WAR, 1st in doubles and 4th in RBIs on the team. Understand that isn't saying much but it is something.

Only the White Sox would pay more to trade for Miguel Vargas than just take Tommy Edman for a year instead.

Jumps to a 1-0 lead and the first thing Martin does is walk the lead off

Vargas is going to lose time to other options (whether they are good or bad) if he doesn't start performing soon.

They just don't have many options and having a top prospect at every position is probably not realistic. It goes to show how far away they are from competing if they don't complement the MLB team with actual talent. Probably a major flaw to assume young talent will prosper without talent around them. Sure, possible, but much more likely if they some legitimate talent already here.
