Not even going to accuse him of it for his play, but the clock seems to be wound a little tight there. Seen the guy go nuts on singles.
26, former 1st rd pick, 3rd team, very Beckham like career, seeing the edge of being released and nowhere to play, its a much harder fall for a guy who was once seen as voted # 1 by GMS to start a franchise with.
You get moved from 3B to 2B, with 3 teams in 5 years, your next stop is out the door. Its not like a pitcher who, if you can throw above 90, can stick around for the next 5-7 years being a middle relief guy for a few mill.
Will always beckon back to some people I knew who told me about Mike Lansing the career year he was going to have and "steak dinner boom", 20 HRs and the money came in.
I dont even blame many of these guys. You spent your whole life to be a Baseball player, you are 26 or 27 and if you can have one really good year at that time you can be set with potential generational wealth if you just take some pills for a few months and work out like a maniac. Go for it.
I think I would ingest some product if put in that position as well.
