There was never a doubt, the Ball apologists can talk intangibles all they want but at the end of the day if you struggle to put the ball in the net..you are a liability. Very few guys can make big impacts as srarters and not score..Ball aint one of them.. hes a nice 6th or 7th man to run point while your starter catches his breath.

I honestly don't know what the debate is here. Does anyone think he's a superstar or a potential superstar? I doubt it. I certainly don't. So then what are we talking about? For me I see him as a useful role player with good D and distribution skills.

The sane among us recognize Ball is a good starter. The insane among us think Lonzo sucks. You are correct in that there’s not really a debate.

He's never going to be anything but average. Ayo and Caruso can replace him without hardly missing a beat. And also save millions of dollars. He runs a break and can play D. Not exactly jaw dropping.

Shakes and FF are still holding out hope. He is making $20 mil per year. The Same amount as Zach Lavine by the way. A player that MANY here believed to be a bad player until recently.

To MANY it is. For $20 mil per year. AK overpaid for him because Coby sucked ass as a player.

To be fair, he hit a couple of threes tonight and played very good defense.

Yeah. In the Last 3 games he's shot 16-38 from the field for a total of 42 pt. Even with his "blazing hot" streak from last night that still comes out to a mere 14 pts per game on 42% shooting. With 4 assists.per game as well.

Make it last 4 games and you get 15ppg and 44% shooting. Pretty damn good for Lonzo Ball who has never been known as a shooter.

Don't cherry pick games. What makes a "good" player isn't his ability to have "one" game. It's the consistency with which he has good games. And you are a ghost whenever he stinks. Which is quite frequently.

His history has shown that that his bad games occur with a greater frequency than does his good. If you look at his last 8-9 games he has only played well in about 2 of them. The 2 that you are currently citing.

I'm not cherry picking anything. He's shooting 44% from 3 on the season. That's fucking good. That's better than Trade Young from 2.

Yeah and he is shooting about 35% from 2. When it is all said and done he avg. 13 pts per game and 4 assists. Playing 35 minutes. Ricky Rubio puts up better #s playing 7 minutes less.

Tyrone Maxey has better #s as a 21 year old backup.

If you want to stat gaze then simply look at his career #s. Advanced and all. They support everything that I have said about him up until this point.

If you look at his numbers and compare them to Rubio the only area he outperforms Rubio is 3 point %. If I asked you would rather have Rubio you'd say hell no. I would take Rubio in a New York minute over Lonzo.

You can keep Rubio and his sad ass defense. Luka goes off for 40 the other night with Rubio trying to guard him.

Rubio has always been regarded as a solid defender. In fact I'm fairly certain that he has made all nba as a defender at some point. Lonzo Never has. Rubio is also a much better floor general. Actually that is the best comp for Lonzo and even there he comes up short.

At best Lonzo is mediocre and always has been. He was shooting 38% from the field before last night with 4 assists as a point. That is terrible. He plays solid defense but that is about it. If he maintains 44% shooting from the 3 for the season then I will reassess a few things. I'd put bread on it that he won't.

Mavs Moneyball    Now you have hit rock bottom. And I'm sure that they Bulls are "lament" not trading for Chris Paul 3 years ago when they could have had him for a bag of donuts

Whoa there big fella. Affordable? From what my eyeballs tell me, he's a dime a dozen. This more touchy grabby league is only going to hurt him on the offensive end. No doubt he's good on D, but that's not why he gets 20 mildough. He's supposed to be flying down the floor towards the hoop with the greatest of handles and with excellent floor awareness. All game, every game.

He's the key between being middle of the road 4th best team in the EC and making it to the Finals. He has to be better. HAS to.
