This is embarrassing. The Bull had an 11pt lead and our now trailing by 11 in the 4th. What's the excuse for being outplayed by the Nets?

Have you seen the south park about the boys summer baseball team. If you have it explains everything.

1 of 2. It's like he's back in Memphis these last two games.

I wish that wasn't the case, but UMN, neither the Bulls nor the Raptors deserve to be in the NBA Playoffs. Even if they get spit out like seeds on a watermelon to LeBron James and the Cavaliers in Round 1, neither team has played good basketball at all down the stretch. Yet one of these two bums will be in the playoffs!

Thats true, they should just give the cavs a bye. Rose, despite the points, looks like he has been bad tonight from the yahoo stat line with turnovers, a key missed FT and alot of fouling. I guess it will all come down to their head to head game as someone will have to win.

It only seems fitting that WCIU 26 The U has the Bulls/Raptors' game in Toronto at the unusual start time of 5p from the Air Canada Centre. Speaking of The U, WTF? WGN Sports On The U?

Give the 8 seed to Memphis. They're east of the Mississippi River. They're almost an Eastern team.

Haha Bulls lose to the Nets again.

If the Bulls were to "win" the 8th playoff spot (or the Raptors were to lose it, to be more accurate), would the playoff experience of getting trounced each game really be of any benefit??? Seems like other than to Reinsdorf (who would sell some extra tickets) it wouldn't really benefit anyone much. Did last years playoff experience really benefit this years squad? It doesn't look like it to me.

For a team that'll likely win their 12th game and second this season over the maddeningly inconsistent Bulls, the Nets may actually keep Vinny's guys out of the postseason and move Vinny Del Negro one step closer to unemployment as head coach...

Toronto lost too tonight, so technically they are tied... I think. If Bosh didn't get his face destroyed the bulls would have zero chance, but somehow they are still alive.

Collins actually said last night "it would be a great learning experience for the Bulls to lose in the first round." Um, Doug? The Bulls lost in the first round three of the last five seasons. How many times do they have to retake the class?

Why doesnt it look like it to you? Noah was helped out alot. He doubled his regular season numbers last year in the playoffs and has maintained that play. Either way we are getting Milewaukee's spot in the draft so I cant see why someone wouldnt want us to make it. It's obviously better to make it than not to.

Why in the hell was Noah not in the game?

I read this article yesterday and it explains why Noah wasn't in the game in OT. If there was any doubt of Vinny sticking around another season, this decision pretty much seals the deal for me. Unless this team has a finals run in them, Vinny is gone.

Quote:
TORONTO -- There have been times when the Chicago Bulls' management and coach Vinny Del Negro haven't appeared to be on the same page, and that was never more evident than Friday night in New Jersey.

And if Del Negro is let go after the season, as many expect, Friday night's confusion over how long to play Joakim Noah in a crucial game against the Nets will be discussed -- especially if the Bulls' 127-116 double-overtime loss to the Nets costs Chicago a playoff berth.

Noah has been battling plantar fasciitis much of the season and was on a 35-minute limit. Del Negro said he played Noah just 12 seconds in the OT periods because he was at his time limit.

But after the game, Bulls general manager Gar Forman said assistant coach Lindsey Hunter asked Forman during the game whether Noah could continue.

Forman called Bulls executive vice president John Paxson, who gave Forman the OK to extend Noah's minutes.

But Del Negro stuck close to the time limit as Noah played 35:52.

"I didn't get that answer until the overtime," Del Negro said Saurday. "Once I got it, we're into the overtime, and my interpretation of that was not to go play him 3, 4, 5, 6,10 minutes and get him into 40 to 45 minutes.

"But when we needed him for a stop, and when we did, that's when I put him back in. I would have loved to have played him some more minutes, especially in the overtime. But that was the understanding, and there was probably a little miscommunication there as well."

Del Negro said his priority was Noah's health.

"Would I have liked to play him more? Of course," Del Negro said. "But his future and his health is the most important thing.

"When you're under ... there's been a lot of things that have gone into this. I would have liked to have played him more, but we just couldn't do that [Friday] night."

Del Negro said he had Hunter contact Forman in the fourth quarter, but he didn't hear back until the first overtime. Noah was not on the court when Brook Lopez tied the game with a basket off an offensive rebound at the end of regulation.

"I wanted to put him in if there was 10 seconds to go, or the 3.6 seconds, but I hadn't got the authority yet to do that," Del Negro said. "And I wasn't able to play him extended minutes because of the 35 [minute] mandate.

"So there was some miscommunication there a little bit. Then when I got the OK to put him back in, I put him back -- I think it was the first overtime, to try and get that stop, and I think we fouled Brook Lopez on it. I wasn't going to play him 40, 45 minutes, or something like that, just because it was back to back games and Joakim's future and his health and everything is a big concern to everyone. It's the first time he's played back to back like that with those many minutes."

After practice Saturday, Noah did not want to get in the middle of the situation.

"I don't want to say anything that puts anybody in a bad position," Noah said. "For me, it's frustrating.

"Of course I want to be out there on the court ... I really don't know what to say about [Friday]. As a player, I'm just trying to focus on a huge game [Sunday] against Toronto. The goal is to make the playoffs. I'm just trying to focus on that and be as positive as I can."

Del Negro was criticized for playing Noah 27 minutes against Portland on Feb. 26, after saying that he would play only 10 or 12 that night. Noah missed the next 10 games.

This may be the worst possible time for a controversy like this to unfold. The Bulls face a must-win game against the Raptors Sunday night for the final playoff spot in the East. The teams have identical records, but Toronto owns the tiebreaker.

Del Negro said he doesn't think there will be a time limit on Noah during Sunday's game.

Pretty much. I think he's afraid to extend his minutes because of the Portland game 2 months ago. Noah was only supposed to play 10-12 minutes, but Vinny played him almost 30. Noah then sat out the next month because of the injury.

If he isn't a pussy, then Vinny is just stupid. He has to know he is gone after the season, and he's basicaly campaigning for any other team who might hire him next season. A resume of 2 straight years into the playoffs, with this season being injury plagued would look pretty good to a dumb GM.

i have a pretty good feeling this game is going to cost the bulls a shot at the playoffs. unless the raptors totally tank it against the raptors and knicks

You have to assume the Raptors will beat the Raptors...that's a gimmie.

But yeah, the Bulls should be up two games right now. But at least they control their own destiny. If they win againt Boston and Charlotte, it doesn't matter what Toronto does. I think Toronto will probably split the last two games, so the Bulls need to probably split their games also. The Raptors have just been awful the last month even with Bosh. Without him they have zero prescence inside, and it seems like the team has just quit.
