Bulls VP John Paxson shoved coach Vinny Del Negro during a postgame confrontation last month, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Paxson was reportedly irate because Del Negro allowed Joakim Noah, who was returning from plantar fasciitis, to exceed the management-imposed minutes limit. Del Negro did not retaliate and Paxson was pulled away. Del Negro's job is in very serious trouble.

wow, this isnt news... its been ongoing for months. garpax is telling vinny what to do, and most likely joakim noah himself is pursueding vinny to let him play longer. either way vdn isnt handling the situation correctly. but at this point even if i were him i wouldnt care.

Considering how things are going within the org., how is VDN not handling the situation correctly?

They talked about Noah and his minutes forever but didn't mention the "shoving"

Didn't he also once storm the locker-room and berate both Chandler and Curry in front of everybody?

You gotta do something. Pax is going to get the blame no matter what; simply settling on Del Negro as the 2nd/3rd choice is enough for him to get the blame.

(Do I think Doug Collins would have been better choice? Oh, hell, no. Why let young players see their coach self-destruct like Collins does when under pressure?)

So KC Johnson had the story a few weeks ago but didn't report it....that's DB Material in my opinion.

I know B&B will light him up for this, but will Mac?

It's safe to say that Vinny Del Negro will be fired as head coach the minute the Bulls' season ends, whether it's tomorrow night in Charlotte or during the likely first round NBA Playoff sweep vs. the Cavaliers. As for John Paxson, what the hell has happened to him? While he cleaned up a great deal of the mess left behind by former G.M. Jerry Krause, he & General Manager Gar Forman's people skills leave a lot to be desired.

If Paxson should be going after anyone, it's the man who not only signs his checks, but REALLY hired Vinny to begin with, and that's Bulls' chairman/owner Jerry Reinsdorf. Uncle Jerry hired Del Negro, not Paxson and definitely not Forman! I can't say I'm surprised by this story, and I think even when Vinny gets his walking papers, this story is far from over. A grievance could be filed & this could have possible implications as the Bulls try to land a big-name free agent this summer.

Will that be before or after Terry tells us about some more shit that he knew about weeks ago but didn't feel like sharing with us?

Uncle Jerry not only should cut his losses with Vinny as a result of this latest black eye, but John Paxson ought to submit his resignation for this!

 Terry shouldn't light KC up for that because he knows things all of time "after the fact". Perfect WYC material if he has anything to say.

This has zero effect on free agency. VDN is still gone, they can still offer the same amount of money, and they still have their "core" in place.

So Vinny didn't play Joakim Noah in the overtime periods last Friday because he was afraid of Paxson beating him up?

Maybe Vinnie pretended not to get the text to say "fuck you" to Paxson.
Shove me will ya?

Paxson, Kc Johnson, Vinnie, and Gar should be fired

Only the Bulls could turn Vinny Del Negro into a sympathetic figure in this by having Paxson go all "Latrell Spreewell" on the coach.

If this is even a little bit true Paxson should be fired the day the season ends and Vinny Del Negro should follow him out the next day.

wow, RPB with the semi-obscure Soul Asylum reference. propers

agreed though that this whole thing is a mess...fire pax, fire vinny and start over. i think vinny has at least earned the right to get another opportunity, i can't think anyone in their right mind would hire Pax as a GM

like radio hosts always like to say "on what team would 'X' player be starting on"....well on what team would Pax being a GM be an improvement? Timberwolves???

I was thinking the same thing. What Paxson did is pretty much in line with Spree.

Fuck Paxson.

Vinny will not be the first coach fired in Chicago major pro sports. That honor will go to Joe(l) Quenneville.

i agree Vinny is not a good coach, but as far as this particular situation what did he do wrong? play Noah a few minutes longer than he should have?
