This sucks. Welcome to town Jimmy Butler.

@KCJHoop K.C Johnson
Thibodeau says Luol is still consulting doctors, hasn't ruled out surgery. #Bulls

The last time somebody got surgery on an afternoon radio show in Chicago was Dahl's vasectomy.

Yeah, but one of his creations still got a show on the LOOP. That vasectomy was about 20 years too late.

Brewer starts for Luol. Thibodeau backtracked a bit on surgery when asked again. Said hopeful not needed. Luol told teammates should be OK.

Jim Morrison said it doesn't work, but desperation is kicking in. I am petitioning the lord, with prayer.

Pax needs to get on the horn right now. Jimmy Butler and a 1st round pick for Grant Hill.

awesome. sit deng down till the playoffs. he doesnt need the experience and that guy with fresh legs is an allstar. we can win enough games with our fuckin bench and all that matters is the post season.

i hope rose's big jordan toe stays fucked until a month before the end too. asik, boozer and watson is all we need to carry this team to the extended season.

I heard what Comcast SportsNet's Mark Schanowski told the "McNeil and/or Spiegel Show" a couple hours ago, and I've got to think Luol Deng will eventually have to undergo surgery on this wrist at some point.

Get Grant Hill here right now. Benny the Bull can meet him at the airport.

Grant Hill drinks Sprite.

It's also a Bulls' sponsor. Given the uncertainty of how long Luol Deng will be sidelined and what I think is a lack of frontcourt depth, you'd think the Bulls would have to make a move at some point. It's my understanding they've only got $700,000 to play with before Uncle Jerry has to pay the luxury tax...

We should just go for that Carmelo Anthony has-been. I'm sure we could give him enough looks to get his next game point total over 1.

Well, I hope the Knicks are happy, let alone Carmelo Anthony's wife, La La Vasquez...She played a huge role behind the scenes in Anthony getting dealt from Denver to New York. Now, because the Knicks are bad at basketball, Mike D'Antoni might soon be out of a job if the Knicks' freefall continues.

I'm all for the guy getting some time on the floor. But you're not going to make a title run with Jimmy Butler playing significant minutes. The Bulls could probably get Hill from Phoenix for very little since this will probably be his last season, and he is still in teriffic shape. If Deng is going to miss any large chunk of time, the move seems like a no-brainer.

Rookies can contribute solid minutes if they have a good head on their shoulders, Taj Gibson was a perfect example of this. I think Jimmy Butler would play solid defense...and wouldn't hurt the team offensively. You can start Korver, he has done it before and can be an excellent kick out option for Derrick Rose. Luol Deng isn't gone for the season - this is only temporary.

Starting Korver would be a mistake. He has been relatively piss-poor this season in a variety of ways to the point that he has become useless unless he hits every shot he takes. He is non-existant on defense, picks up ridiculous fouls, and needs a haircut.

On last night's ESPN Radio/Bulls Radio Network pregame called "BMO Harris Bank Pregame Live", which was also videostreamed on Bulls.com, Sam Smith was on with host Steve Kashul. Smith mentioned that Luol Deng wants to return for Sunday's nationally televised game in Miami which starts the 9-game road trip.

I know it's the first meeting between the Bulls & Heat since Benedict LeBron and company schooled Chicago in the Eastern Conference Finals, but I'm not all that confident that Deng will be able to withstand a great deal of pain for very long and surgery seems all but inevitable. I'm not holding my breath that Deng is a go Sunday in South Beach...

Well, unfortunately for the rest of the peeps going he has tickets. :P

But I'm pretty sure that's the big CSFMB game with a thread about it that's like 17 pages long.

I see it, but I don't have connections...

Being that it's his left wrist, couldn't he just play with it?

I would much rather Deng come back sooner rather than later, especially if he can manage the pain. The longer he sits, the more rusty he is going to get. His wrist is going to be bothersome for the rest of the season, might as well get him on the court if he can play at a high level. Sitting him isn't going to accomplish much, aside from trying to calm the pain. Kobe gets shots for his pain, I don't care if Deng has to do that, so long as it helps us in the long run!
