but Montreal won't break us down.

I envy the Canadiens' solid goaltending in one Carey Price, but Budaj has the start, as both teams are in back ends of home-and-road back-to-backs tonight. Probably not going to be a beautiful game tonight.

The Canadiens envy that our coach speaks French. Seriously: this is a thing.

Carcillo to injured reserve, Kruger probably concussed, Pirri up, Crawford in net. Lineup's lookin' a little Rockfordy to me.

Morin - Toews - Kane
Stalberg - Sharp - Hossa
Bickell - Bolland - Frolik
Mayers - Pirri - Brunette
Keith - Seabrook
Leddy - Hjalmarsson
Montador - Instigator
Crawford

Pirri's been playing very well with Rockford so far, best of all our prospects, if I'm not mistaken. As another slight-bodied center behind Kruger in the depth chart, I'm not sure if he figures into the Hawks' long-term plans the way Kruger, Morin, the Hayeses, and Saad do. I could see him flipped if we get someone BIG at the deadline, bigger than Gleason, Ruutu, or Prospal.

Again, going to be ugly, in all likelihood. Hawks would do well to "play it like a road game" and settle for garbage goals and stuff.

Trade talk so soon? Miss a little...

I could of sworn that Brunette was a lefty... I guess that doesn't matter down there at the slow bottom...

I don't know if people are discombobulated because of the 6:30 puckdrop, or if the remnants of Jacques Martin's Habs are just that much of a black hole of excitement, but man, the place is dead tonight. Dead. We need a goal to get the place going. Draw a penalty. Something. Please.

Called this one. Only goal so far has been a sloppy deflection from Kostitsyn. Wouldn't be surprised if 1-0 holds up the way these teams are playing, especially the Hawks.

People need to dial down the praise for Toews's amazing intangibles when he can't get his team to give a flying fuck against Eastern Conference one-shot deals. The Penguins showed us what a real "try hard every night" team is all about.

This is just ghastly. At least the nightmare against the Hurricanes was a road game. This, though.

EDIT: and just as I say this, Toews scores GO FUCKING FIGURE

EDIT: Sharpie! So there IS a game tonight!

Was thinking the same thing aboot Toews and I love the way he plays but it seems like the Hawks have a lot of nights where they sleepwalk for 2/3 of the game and by the time they do start giving a shit its 2 or 3 goals they have to make up.

They did that a lot last year, they'd play hard the last 2 minutes.

I wouldn't blame Toews for it. I love that guy.

They gave Brunette the goal. Lame. Swore it was redirected off Toews. Guess he'll have to get #20 later tonight!

Still counts on an empty net! 20 in 35 for Toews.

EDIT: not every day you see a goal after the empty-netter. Wonder if the Habs are going to start a fight.
