Reichel will be traded. I was hoping he would of been traded for Kakko last offseason.

congrats to ovechkin, scoring at his age is right out of a dannon yogurt 1970s commercial. i watch this club as much as i can, and still see things that are very deflating. not sure what vlasic was doing on the great8's first goal and fucking foligno, on his forehand AND with the puck, didn't clear the puck on the PK, went backwards to vlasic on the boards and murphy scored for the caps 4 seconds later. thought knight should have stopped the 2nd caps goal.

i liked the fact that bedard had a shoot-first mentality, other than that, was invisible until he took a dumb penalty after he flubbed a puck on the boards.

lines 2 & 3 were good tonight. have to give them credit.

I think Oliver Moore may be better than Bedard

this team is finally fun to watch this season. All it took was bringing up all the kids. Hopefully they all stick next year and we get a whole season of this.

I'm enjoying actually watching every shift and not just fast forwarding to Bedard.

I would assume we have the deepest stable of Defense prospects in the NHL. Not a bad thing.

Need to get some top 6 forward depth, but that will come. Nazar already looks the part. If they draft #2 they'll get Misa. If he makes the parent club next year this will be a really fun team to watch. Will still be terrible, but I'll take terrible and young and upcoming all day long.

I read someone say that IF the Penguins don't move anyone one, they will fire Sullivan and bring in Q to make another run with Sid the Kid and company.

how is that possible when they are a bottom feeder team right now? This isn't college sporst, can't just reshuffle the deck and bring in all new top end players next season through the transfer portal.

Lots of luck with that. That team is past old, done and overpriced.

Apparently Dominic James wasn't signed because he wanted the Hawks to burn the 1st year of his ELC and they said no.

He would be smart to sign and not re-enter the draft.

6th round pick. No biggie if he doesn't sign. If he's a senior, wouldn't he then be an unrestricted free agent if he doesn't sign? They might trade his rights for another 6th round pick or just let him walk.

last home game of the year tonight - also, maroon's last ever nhl game. one media guy said:

Quote:
Maroon has enjoyed a wonderful career and I’m sure the fans at the United Center (and probably Jets players as well) will show him the appropriate love tonight.

appropriate love? this guy had zero connection to the club/fans, only signed to hit the cap floor. his nhl CV is impressive...respect, not love.

only seen a few periods of the last few games in pitt and boston. saw that celebrini just registered his first career hat-trick after fantilli already has already tallied his first 2 career hat-tricks. the man with the elite shot needs to stop the figure-8s, skating away away from goal, trying to make a pin-point seam pass through 8 legs and 4 sticks to someone who likely struggles finishing. shoot the puck, dude. he really needed the season to end months ago. re-set. kaiser/levshunov are the 3rd D-pairing, should be the #2 pairing ahead of martinez/murphy.

going to watch ehlers - i'd target him as an UFA signing. plenty of room for some free agent/trade target(s) FWDs next year. kurashev RFA is likely gone, reichel under contract is a maybe, donato is another maybe and maroon is retiring. from what has been floating around, GM kyle has a 3 year/$4 million deal on the table for donato.

Signed Aiden Thompson assigned him to Rockford. Too bad Dominic James is pouting and has not signed.

best goalie in the league, super stats...blackhawks get 2 dodgy goals. hopefully, bedard himself will pick up on the simple concept - shooting the puck at the net. you never know.

the jets want the presidents' trophy. expect a winnipeg pushback. could open up a bit, blackhawks need to take advantage.

hellebuyck made up for the 2 dodgy goals by stopping mikheyev/foligno/nazar, all on 1x1 opportunities.

jets getting away with a penalty or two - now that the linesman flipped ehlers - will have to be an obvious infraction for a blackhawks PP.

Ryan Greene signed and is playing tomorrow. They are burning a lot of ELCs this year. Wonder how that will play out with the cap with so many guys eligible at the same time?

one of the reasons why i threw out the question: should the blackhawks offer bedard a big contract after this season? most of these guys have only 2 years to rack up points and pro hockey cred before contract - 2 years is better than 3 years, from a company stand point.

as far as greene - projects to be the next dickinson and likely better down the road. defense orientated C with size and speed...good hands, face-off skills. will the staff get cute and mix and match greene on crucial d-zone face-offs?

game in montreal tonight - demidov debut. will try and catch as much as i can. i wanted demidov, accepted levshunov as the pick, hope levshunov continues to bloom. canadiens should be flying, need 2 points to clinch a playoff birth.

Yeah, I think Greene is your 3rd line Bolland type center.

I would offer Bedard the contract.

Well, the Habs going to OT means the Blue Jackets are out. Oh, well, they had a much better season than expected what with what happened right before the season started.

Hell of a way for it all to end for them, the mere clinching of a loser point. Ah well. Lots of teams out East seem to be bouncing back, hopefully the Hawks can do the same next year. Dark Age II sucks.

not sure about that. if the canadiens lose their last game of the season to carolina in regulation time and columbus wins their last 2 games (winnable against phlly and the islanders), i believe columbus is in. habs needed 2 points against the blackhawks to clinch, they only got one. habs fans already ringing the alarm bells after getting only 1 loser point against the lowly blackhawks - and needed a late dubious blackhawk penalty and PP goal to send the game to overtime. thought it was 1977 and andy van hellemond's arm was ready to go up for the forum faithful.

first ever pro game in montreal. greene, looks the part. good size and can skate. we'll wait and see on the face-offs/d-work and hands.

demidov schooled murphy on the habs first goal. almost hypnotized him with the lateral movement- i remember the knock on demidov was his skating/edge-work. good speed, anticipation and edge-work on his goal, stopped and turned on a dime to slip a backhand past soderblom - though, demidov did get lucky with the carom coming right back in front of the goal.

demidov vs. murphy - 1st nhl game vs. 750 nhl games.

the rest, overall, a thumbs up. nazar was fantastic again, best blackhawk FWD the past 2 months. club started out very slow, sluggish. back in the game after 12-15 mins. these guys are giving us hope for the off-season/draft and next season.

habs fans and the blind mice in stripes still looking for the puck on nazar's shoot-out 'miss'.

You are correct - if the Jackets win out and Montreal loses in regulation, the Jackets get in on the tie-breaker.

hoping columbus gets in - saw the highlites of them destroying the caps...fantili is really coming into his own. crushed empty-net hero ryan leonard and sent leonard into next week with a clean hit.

No doubt. It was nice to watch them push the pace and keep possession in the offensive zone for longer than 10 seconds.
