Thanks.

Probably going to go with Manual but it's more wide open this year.

Covid cases are getting games cancelled left and right. Very few teams have enough payers vaccinated to play through a positive case or contact tracing.

I'll be at Hinsdale tonight if they're playing and letting people in.

Only Oak Forest vs Maine South was cancelled there for today as of last night.

Does St Charles East still have those two big white boys inside JORR?

If the guys you're talking about were any good, I don't think so. They are terrible. 0-10 now. They lost to the host team who isn't very good either.

Also, I can't imagine that there will be another all white game in the Chicago area this year. Kind of strange that there wasn't a single black player on either team. And I think Hinsdale Central may have dressed 19 or 20 for the game.

St Charles coach is a guy Will recruited to Fenwick when he was there. He transferred to OPRF when Will left to coach Loyola University.

The guy coaching Glenbard East is Al Bianclana. I'm pretty sure he used to be at York. Guy was dressed like he was going to a mob funeral at Montclair-Lucania. He was a little animated, stomping his feet like a nut and stuff. His team was terribly overmatched against DePaul. I think they may not have scored at all in the second quarter. Late in the third the game was all but over and Kleinschmidt still had his boys trapping and pressing. I was waiting for Bianclana to walk over to Tommy and punch him in the face or maybe pull out a pistol.

I dated his sister in high school.

He was at Stagg for many years as well I think. He went to Elmwood Park High because he knew he would not have been able to play football or hoops at Fenwick.

The family had a place of the same name on Grand in Elmwood park for years. They sold it last year. The new owners were willing to open up during COVID so we had our daughter's wedding reception there in May. Will and his wife had their reception there 40 years before.

After watching them both Wednesday night, it's hard to believe Hinsdale Central could beat DePaul. I know it's their home floor, but that's a big upset.

They can't.

Glenbard West is something this year I've been told by Young Crest.

They did beat DePaul.

West has that 6'11" kid who is going to Gonzaga.

Al Sr ran the place.

Al Jr and Tony were his sons, and Jeanne was his daughter. I never met his brother.

I have seen some of the top teams in the city and state. For what's its worth the best talent can be found in Reader's Kenwood Broncos squad. Currently ranked #2 but they are the best talent wise.

We're a sports powerhouse. It'd be nice to see a team finally surpass what my team did (get screwed out of) at state.

This might be the year for them to win either City or State. Possibly both.

Yeah they are down relative to what they usually have. Best players are low level D1 players. In Robert Smith's worst years, their best players are no less than mid majors.
I have joked to a few people that now he has to win with Mike Oliver, (Curie) my guy Goodie (R.I.P.) and Lou (from Orr) talent.
Robert Smith is a good coach, but I don’t if he can win playing the game they play at those schools. They have shown they can get it done with lesser talent. I have never seen him do it.

The 2 most talented teams in the city this year are WY and Kenwood.

DePaul looks pretty good. They've lost 2 close games. I'm not sure how they lost to Hinsdale Central. I think if they played them 50 times DePaul would win 48 or 49. Lost to De La Salle the other night. I'm not sure how that happened either. I don't think the Meteors are very good this year. Kleinschmidt missed that game. I don't know why. Maybe COVID.

Morgan Park petitioned up to 4a this year so they could avoid losing to them in the playoffs..

West is unreal - saw them rip up the home tournament at Thanksgiving against the Glenbards. Starters were on the bench by half each game. They have 4 D1 players with the star headed to Gonzaga, two headed to Army and another headed to princeton and the fifth starter is looking D2.

They have Larkin tonight who is a surprising top 10 team.

He is a friend of friends. I was hanging out with them at a holiday tournament and he was sitting next to them as I walked up. It's been a while and I didn't even recognize him as he's transformed from professional athlete to ordinary average guy. He said hi and I only figured it out when I saw the Depaul polo shirt.

Ignatius beat them last night.

DePaul is missing that guy who can score a bucket when they need it. I think Kamin is supposed to be that guy but he's only a sophomore.
