I don't think MILF porn is actual MILFs. From what I gleaned from one of Jon Ronson's many works on the porn industry, the tech takeover of online porn and techniques like A/B testing resulted in porn producers learning what their audiences actually watched/really wanted and focusing on those genres. Teen and MILF porn emerged as the winners. However, the MILFs in MILF porn aren't actually 40+; they are late 20's - early 30's porn actresses who due to years of sex and drugs look over 40, at least I think that's what he said.

Similarly, the teens in teen porn aren't actual teenagers (except maybe in some of those sketchy Russian porns). "Teens" in teen porn are youthful looking porn actresses between the ages of 21-23 (or 18-23, depending on the jurisdiction). Regardless, everyone agrees once a porn actress hits late 23-24 she's done getting paid to do mainline porn until she ages into the MILF category.

Not unlike folks who went vegetarian for a spell back in high school after reading Upton Sinclair's exposé of Chicago's meat-packing industry, diving into these porn industry background materials and learning how the porn is made and the costs to the individuals involved might spoil the experience of watching porn after. I couldn't even think about viewing porn again for a good 2 to 3 hours after listening to the Last Days of August.
