I’m sure this will get moved but I’m asking from a business perspective. I don’t really understand the waste of funds. The demand already exceeds the supply. They get free advertising on every news report. It’s weird to me. |

I never understood why ComEd advertised either. The father of a kid who worked for me for a long time was a big Exelon executive. I told the kid to ask his dad why ComEd advertises. He came back and told me his dad said, "We just want you to know we're here for you."

Yeah, while the usual goal of advertising is increased sales, for monopolies or utilities its purpose is to soften the public's negative opinion. |
