I agree with all of that.

And I would suggest that it's sort of like me criticizing Quintana more than I criticize James Shields. James Shields requires no criticism. Anyone with a brain knows he's horseshit. But Quintana would be like Hillary. There are those constantly telling us how great she is in spite of a mountain of evidence to the contrary. That becomes frustrating. And this idea that if you find her to be anything less than awesome, you hate women is just bullshit. Hillary might be a .500 president, but I think most of us would like more than that.

Imagine if every time I mentioned Quintana losing another game to a supposedly lesser pitcher that LTG popped into the thread accusing me of thinking James Shields was better than Quintana.

I've never made the argument that I'm voting for Hillary because she is a woman. I hate symbolic political votes as well identity politics.

I didn't say you did. It's usually women making that argument.

You can re-write your entire premise and switch the names and no one with an open mind would be willing to argue the point. Until Hillary's "deplorables" comment, the only personal difference between the two was her being more measured about her views.

We keep getting idiots running for office because people are willing to accept someone who is "evil".

Yes, it works just as well that way too.

But I would say that with regard to this forum, the criticisms of Hillary that upset LTG so much are based on the fact that most of us realize that Trump is unfit to be president and thus dismiss him out of hand.

I consider Hillary unfit to be president too but in a different way. She is going to do nothing but maintain the status quo. That's likely what Trump would do as well, but his crazy and thoughtless statements would carry much more weight if he were actually president. This is a guy who wonders why we don't use our nukes.

In terms of Sanders my opposition was ideological and political. I thought that he was politically calculating and I had doubts about his ability to govern given his ideological dogmatism. I never thought that he was a bad person. In fact I would concede the belief in him being a better person than Hillary. I think she'd make a better President than Sanders but I never thought Sanders was a bad person.

Trump is a completely different animal. He is both a terrible politician and a terrible person. His core is bad. His racism is real and he generally doesn't care about people. This is what his history has demonstrated. He routinely shits on people. He would make for a terrible President. From an acumen standpoint he has none.

I generally think Hillary Clinton animus accounts for the reluctance to criticize Trump. The earlier argument related to his inability to win as a primary reason for the reluctance. That can't be the reason now. Hillary doesn't have to be anyone's cup of tea but if they think that Trump is the alternative then they are mistaken.

Trump gives credence to the people that only see the ugly side of America. A number of his supporters and detractors fall into this category. He gives credence to individuals that only see race and bigotry in America. His campaign is heavily driven by it. There is a reason that white supremacist groups are gleefully hitching their wagon to him and the prospect of him being President.

You are one of the few that have correctly identified his candidacy for what it is. It is not about him being an idiot, or a goof, or a joke, or anti establishment. It's not about him appealing to a working class electorate. It is about him being an unabashed racist, bigot, and xenophobe. It is about appealing to that segment of the population that believes that this country is somehow being taken from them. It is about appealing to that segment that has had to lie dormant as this country elected its first black president. It's about appealing to an electorate that had to stay silent as terms like political correctness and post racial have taken center stage.

In Trump they found a champion for their beliefs. In Trump they see the last bastion of hope for their cause. That cause invariably relates to "America for the Americans". The "others" need not apply

Trump's unfit to be the President because he is a racist. ltg

Hillary uses racist language and imprisons thousands of black men but is fit to be president. ltg

Obviously, the vote you speak of is something that any Republican who wants to be elected president is going to have to get. You can see that just by looking at the map. But you seem to be going further and suggesting- as Clinton did- that a majority of Trump voters are hateful bigots. I think that's wrong coming from you and wrong and offensive coming from her.

LTG is voting for HRC because it is what he has been programmed to due from the womb. He is a mindless black southside democrat. I bet ne has voted according to the card handed to him by his precinct captain every time. If there wasn't someone there to instruct him how to vote he would have no clue how to. All his posts are nothing but parroting the party line as given by the leaders of the D party.

As for Trump he is a bully and a flim flam man. He is to put it in the best light Jesse Jackson in white face. Playing off of the fears and bigotry of the common man. He may or may not be a racist but he is certainly is a bigot. There is a difference in the words and I really wish people would know the fucking difference when they use them. Both parties should have seen and known it was coming from the first stirrings of the Tea Party to Rauner getting elected. Trump like figure was coming down the pipeline for a long time. His run should only be a surprise in how far it has gone, pollsters are worried that thier numbers might be way off in that they think that a lot of Trump supporters are not giving truthful answers to them. I just have to say based on his posts if Trump does pulls this out of his ass we need to send a wellness check to LTG house.

The other difference is that no one seems to defend Trump at least here.

If ltg and Nas admitted Hillary is horrible and no one should be happy voting for her then this thread would probably be a lot different.

There are two things that you stated which demonstrate that you don't know what the hell you are talking about. Trump was found liable for racism in a court of law. By definition that makes him a racist. If I tell you that he has never had a black executive promoted in any of his businesses to upper echelon positions that strongly suggests that he is a racist. That isn't a coincidence. If I tell you that he was found liable for violating racial quota laws at his Indiana casino that demonstrates that he is racist.

Know the history before you speak. You don't have a clue about why blacks vote Democrat. You display a tremendous amount of ignorance and it is illustrative frankly of a person that has never paid much interest to the racial struggles which have afflicted blacks. You parrot right wing racist talking points and attempt to pass them off as fact. Republicans post 1968 have shunned the black vote and denigrated black people. I illustrated that during earlier posts. "Mindless"? I unlike you have thought long and hard about this sort of thing. I live it you don't.

Of course. It's sad that we have to choose between these two.

But the difference for me in this election is that I don't view this as a standard "lesser of two evils" vote. I mean, it certainly is that, but one of the candidates seems to be so unhinged and reactionary that I just want to make it past this election before demanding someone actually good. I would prefer to avoid World War III if at all possible.

Because we live in Illinois, I will likely vote Johnson, but if I were in a swing state, I'd vote Hillary. That's how much he scares me.

So if we felt exactly the way that you did you would stop going out of your way to attack Hillary while dismissing the actions of Trump? I.DO.NOT.BELIEVE.YOU.

Many people say this but do they really believe if some way Trump won he could pull this off? I don't really think he could just get pissed one day and nuke some place. Its a bit much.

He said that he'd lost the Southern Democratic vote for at least generation. Dixiecrats switched over to Republican because of the passage of the Civil Rights Act.

If Hillary is as great as Quintana she will be our best president in 60 years.

Is it because LBJ said he would have them doing so for a hundred years?

He said that he'd lost the Southern Democratic vote for at least generation. Dixiecrats switched over to Republican because of the passage of the Civil Rights Act.

Snopes says the quote is unproven but there is plenty here to get the spirit LJB came from.

In fact, it's very much like that. And there's nothing "fallacious" about Quintana's 45-44 record. (He got a game over .500 last night! Woo-ee!) That is a fact not a fallacy. In half his games another pitcher pitches as well or better than he does. That hardly describes a "great" pitcher. Anyway, criticism of one person doesn't mean that there aren't others that suck worse.

Quintana has more no decisions than he has wins or losses.

Really now? You know zip about me. I went to a majority Black High school and dealt with the southside attitude from both sides for the majority of my life. Trump is right about one thing, "what have you got to lose" voting for him? The Dems and esp this candidate have done nothing but tried to force your people back down. Any party that advocates returning parts of our sovereign land to another country needs t o be broken up. You are a mindless drone. Trump is a bad candidate, HRC is just as bad. Thing is asshats like you do not seem to admit that. Hell she basically died Sunday and all you can spout off is that Trump once got fined for not adhering to artificial quota system. I'm sorry but if the only way you can get a job is because they pass a law requiring you to be hired would not make me proud, I would not mention it or keep bringing it up. Dude, the Democrats are selling the blacks out to grab the Hispanic vote. The whole mantra of oh they do the jobs Americans won't? Huh, Americans will not work in fast food or retail? Think about it the same fuckers pushing for the $15 min wage are the same group of jagoffs pushing for amnesty for illegal, can you step up Rep Gutierrez? Rat faced fuck.

Many people say this but do they really believe if some way Trump won he could pull this off? I don't really think he could just get pissed one day and nuke some place. Its a bit much.

I don't know for sure, but I don't want to find out. I read a couple articles that said that the U.S. nuclear system is designed for speed, not checks and balances. The president carries the black box with him everywhere he goes. It doesn't seem like a stretch. Again, even if the answer is "probably not", I don't think we should press our luck and find out.

Im not racist . I hate everyone equally. rapist nahhh just out of line. thief no just guilty of receiving stolen merchandise, separate charge. Welfare King nah one collected when needed as what it was intended for. Not an expert just a dabbler.

That said, much of what he says is true. There is a reluctance to criticize Trump, and it's hard to pinpoint why. If I had to guess, I think Trump is viewed by many in the same way that liberals view Islam... there is a reluctance to criticize because they don't take him seriously. The problem is that he's on the cusp of being President of the United States. It's not only scary... it's embarrassing. Hillary is an evil liar... and yet she should be president 100 times out of 100 over this moronic sociopath. Donald Trump has already hurt America in big ways, and he hasn't even held office. He stirs up the racist and xenophobic loudmouths and continues to promote the ignorant beliefs of the uneducated. Words matter. You can sit here all day and talk about how awful the Clintons have been for minorities... and you'd be right... but it's still preferable to the tone Trump has made acceptable in a civilized country. His policy proposals are laughable and make the rest of the world nervous. If the argument is that he doesn't mean what he says, then I don't know what the hell we are supposed to judge people on. I can't accept a political climate where people say "Oh, don't worry... they don't mean anything they say." It's beyond absurd. I'll take the lying corporatist over the idiotic, bigoted corporatist with no sense of reality every time.

I think I know your angle and the answer is yes. LBJ was renowned as a racist by many. At some point he understood that there was a need to help the poor, including poor blacks. His social programs are widely criticized but at least he made an attempt. Trickle down economics and the demonization of welfare programs has not benefitted black people. History has shown that.

I remember reading that there was some sort of check and balance to activation. The President would have to go through some sort of military protocol before being able to use it. .
