Do you think Art Fleming and Alex Trebek were "true intellectuals". It's a fucking game show host. All you have to do is be somewhat genial, not look like a troll, and be able to read. I get that Trebek liked to foster the idea that he actually knew all the answers, but I didn't think anyone really believed he did.

If we want to find someone who pretends to know everything in the most condescending way possible then they should start using posters from this board.

producers don't want another already old AF host who (i) will keel over in a few years and need to be replaced and (ii) has limited appeal to anyone not in AARP

there has to be a spare Kardashian Klan member who can break off a couple days a month to read answers off a prompter. Either someone in that demo or justin bieber, keep it Canadian. Maybe the guy who exposed Janet Jackson's titties at the Super Bowl, he's not doing anything these days (AFAIK)

That's pretty harsh. Age has nothing to do with his qualifications because he's very qualified.

I'm sorry you're disappointed that Justin Bieber is not a host.

Starting on the Bill Whitaker episodes. His voice seems a tad soft.

Not impressed by Whittaker, either. Rodgers was not as good as I expected. Cooper is my front runner, probably because I know nothing of his other work to taint my opinion. Jennings next. Willing to see how Buzzy does. Keep the elf and burn Oz at the stake. Too big for the producer. IMHO

The producer has already said he is not taking the spot. I pretty much agree with the rest. I thought Cooper was really good, but he won’t get it, as he is too polarizing (and the ratings have borne that out).
Whittaker is too dry and robotic - when he responds to a contestant, it sounds like someone is hitting a button on their Bill Whittaker soundboard.

When Trebek first got the job, a lot of people were mad that the smooth-talking host of the daytime pablum High Rollers was replacing the intellectual Art Fleming.

Finishing up watching The Bill Whitaker two weeks. He's really dry. Appears he'd be pretty well lost without the teleprompter. Makes the most mistakes of any substitute host. They've had to take away money from contestants because he accepts wrong answers. More than average with him. One example - he accepted oil field, instead of oil well. He does this too many times. No way he's sharp, or personable enough to be the permanent host.

I'll do it.

But, contractually, I should be allowed to win the money each episode.

Give me no prep or cue cards. Listen to the podcast - that's how we roll.

I don't need the questions (answers). Let's just go for it.

Have HY as a podcast guest. Then I'd listen.

I'd stab myself in the ears with an ice pick.

This Buzzy guy is grating with his forced over enthusiasm, and bad toupee.

Buzzy got better with toning down the forced enthusiasm. Mayim Bialik nice thick milf. A PhD in Neuroscience doing "Big Bang Theory" trash? Went to Monday recording to find Biden weeping apology.

Buzzy was too much for my. Mayim did well. Maybe time for a woman? She is also really smart.

That winner tonight was very strange but almost nerdy attractive.

I think I could kick all kinds of ass on Jeopardy.

I've been watching this for 35 years. Maybe I'll go for it - bucket list kind of stuff.

You should definitely try to qualify. I have my moments where I get a lot right. I also get a few wrong which could hurt me

One of the questions this past week was the NBA doesn't use this offensive term anymore. It's using governor instead. What is owner? Pretty good laugh.

I took the online test.

If you aren't at typing, you're going to have trouble. They will let me know in the next 12 months.

I was traumatized.

50 questions in 15 minutes. Each question was 15 seconds to register the topic, read the question, type the answer (didn't have to be in the form of a question), and then get your mouse over to hit SUBMIT.

So you basically had about 5 seconds to consider what you were doing.

I think the game would be far easier to just hold a button and concentrate on the question to answer.

Felt pretty good about my answers. I'm sure it won't be good enough.
