Apparently Ian Cunningham to Jacksonville is in play? We get two 3rd round supplemental picks if this happens.

I'd be happy to trade them Poles for a first and elevate Cunningham.

There was some rumblings about this a few days ago, but any of the big NFL reporters haven't had anything on this.

Cunningham must have a good agent, see his name linked to everything from Jags GM to Prime Minister of Canada.

Ryan Poles thinks the guy he just hired is a football savant. Ryan Poles also thinks the other coach he hired and kept for too long is a blithering idiot, so take that as you will.

Both those things are really Larry Holmes coincidences. Great agent that turns into his boss and he always just misses a job that he didn't put his name in for.

hopefully the team will be okay abandoning the HITS principles of the dimwit coach and replacing it with WINS (maybe?)

As long as he doesn't trot out WINT, I'm good.

Second time Steelers have made Poles look stupid. Fool me once...

Steelers are clearly the better run organization. They knew Justin sucks and turned a 6th round pick into a 3rd or 4th when he started 4-2. They had a defense that would allow Justin to be a game manager and pulled the plug when Wilson was healthy enough to take over. They kept Justin on the bench to avoid exposing him as the hack he is at QB and let the idiot Jets sign him to a contract while pretending to want him back.

Well done PITT!

Every move he has made looks bad in retrospect and it makes you doubt everything he is doing this offseason.

A once-in-a-generation windfall that could’ve become Jalen Carter & Jayden Daniels instead netted them Bobbie Massie & Kellen Mond. I actually like Tyrique Stevenson if he can get his head on straight, but most Bears fans don’t. DJ Moore is a good player but haasn’t done anything to move the needle for a team that has sucked both years he’s been here.

So yeah, bad trade. Could’ve been transformational but they blew it.

The Ryan Poles era began in baggage claim at O’Hare International Airport on the night of Jan. 24, 2022. McCaskey drove to the airport, parked his Honda Accord in the White Sox level of the garage and met his new GM.

“He was squeezing himself into the passenger seat,” McCaskey recalled of Poles, a former offensive lineman. “I said, ‘You can put that seat back. And I realized in an instant the seat was already back as far as it could go. He was still having trouble getting in there.”

Three days later, Matt Eberflus was hired as the Bears’ head coach. He was one of three finalists that McCaskey, former president Ted Phillips and then-adviser Bill Polian had after running coinciding searches. Poles had the option to reopen the search but declined. They were introduced together at Halas Hall.

Didn't they just give paper to a TE?

They did!

And they passed on probably the next great tight end for a guy who can sometimes catch a ball!

You know if the Bears had Jalen Carter, Brock Bowers, Cooper DeJean and Sam LaPorta instead of Darnell Wrong, Rome Odunze, Montez Sweat and Chase Claypool I’d be a lot more open to this move—but as it stands I’m just assuming this guy sucks because the guy who is making the picks.
