Scottie is one of the most underrated players ever. When healthy, we saw he was elite without Jordan.

Underrated here, in his own town.

I don't think that he was underrated very much. He was greatly acknowledged as the 'ROBIN' to Jordan's "BATMAN" and loved by the Chicago fans and media people. I remember his being considered by a lot of people as a very valuable "star" player. BUT, in no way was Pippen ever in the same class as Jordan or the other GREATS of the time like Bird, Malone, Magic, Jabbar, and a few others. He was very GOOD TO VERY GOOD on offense and rebounding but was excellent on defense and a shut down defensive player as was RODMAN of course.

I Think that like many excellent players are just jealous of the true greatest to ever play kind of super-stars who are just more valuable than them and make more bank. I think he is just envious of the greatness of JORDAN. I know this, for his entire career, he has screwed up his own reputation as a person and personality, especially in the last ten years or so. He also isn't being advised or making smart business decisions.

He's generally considered one of the top 25-30 players of all time. How is he underrated?

I don't think this is true. MANY act as if he was just a guy because he wasn't Black Jesus.

Would of been good basketball if hypothetically Jordan and Pippen in their primes went head to head in a finals like Jordan did with Barkley, Malone, Stockton, and others.

Everyone assumes that Pippen wasn't a more dominant scorer because he played with Jordan but without Jordan he only marginally increased his scoring on the Bulls and it went way down after he left the Bulls.

Not by anyone who ever watched an NBA game.

Pippen is no Ed Sadowski or Dolph Schayes, that's for sure.

I do enjoy JORR arguing that Jordan isn't the GOAT and also arguing that Pippen just wasn't that good.

This is always the most amusing and foolish argument whenever its posted here.

During the Bulls second three peat, MJ put up basically what LeBron has done in his career.
Quote:
In the span of 32 months, between November of 1995 to June of 1998, Michael Jordan won 3 NBA championships, 2 league MVPs, 3 Finals MVPs, 3 scoring titles, and had 3 All-Defensive first-team selections. Jordan started for all 82 regular season games during each of those three seasons.
LeBron has one scoring title and one all defense 1st team in his career.

I'm not sure why you think one or both of those things must be true. Other than the poster over your bed when you were a child.

If Jordan won 6 titles with the only other All-Star he EVER played with not being that good of a player then Jordan is the GOAT.

That's dumb. A real GOAT would elevate his bum teammates to All-Star status the way LeBron elevated Chris Bosh.

Sounds like he did with Pippen.

Scottie Pippen was a great defender but not a great offensive player, and he certainly isn't one of the top 25-30 players in NBA history.

Jordan is the most individually dominant player I've ever seen.

I am not ever going to put Pip in some top discussion. Before it was all over though besides defense he could pop the three and go to the hole. Ask Ewing.
