He will be eligible for an extension and will demand top 3 money. https://www.si.com/nfl/2024/03/27/brock ... ract-49ers The whole value proposition with Purdy is he's outperforming his cheap rookie deal, so it allows SF to stock the roster with stars on both sides of the ball. Once he makes big money they'll have to function like KC does - lose the high priced stars (e.g. Tyreek Hill) and try to get by with retreads and rookies and maybe 1-2 stars you can still afford. They can do that because Mahomes is Mahomes. Is Purdy Mahomes? I don't think so. Trade Purdy, keep the other stars, and try to find the next one. |

Purdy is the real deal. Don't try to diminish one of my whites. I would take Purdy over Dak Cousins every day of the week. He's easily a top 10 quarterback and possibly a top 5 quarterback. |

If I'm gonna have one player take up all my cap space I want to be sure that player can elevate the roster. I just don't think Purdy is that guy. If he wants to take a discount then let's talk. If he wants top dollar then goodbye for me. |

No one shit on Mahomes for playing with HoF players to start his career. No one has criticized Sweaty Josh for not taking off until he got Diggs. Most top quarterbacks have elite talent around them. Shanahan knows what he has in Purdy. He's the only quarterback Shanahan has been willing to take the training wheels off for. It's best to get a deal done today because the price will only increase. You may be talking Cousins money today. Tomorrow it's Joe Burrow money. |
