So I'll put you in Matches down for Thibs not being a good coach. I'll put you down for Paxson being a good GM.

He's a good coach. He's just not an elite coach.

I don't think that's a crazy belief.

I will clarify it for you. Paxson should be launched. He should not be allowed an opportunity to oversee another rebuild after being on the job for about 13 yrs. However he should be given credit for his first rebuild. The Bulls were in the bottom 3 franchises at the time took over. Absolute mess. He helped build that contending team. It was well known that Bulls were easily among the top jobs at the time Thibs took over.

I just don't think that Paxson gets any credit for the job that he did earlier. Conversely I believe that Thibs has received too much credit for really not doing much. He has only been to one conf. Finals yet he is a top 2 coach? Based on what?

1. Poppovich
2. Kerr
3. Idk... Carlisle or Thibs... Toss up.

On a side note... Brad Stevens has to be a top 10 coach right?

Thibs = best coach without a title (as head coach, won a ring with Celts as asst coach).

Best defensive coach in the NBA.

Could use some input on offense and on how not to run your team into the ground during the regular season.

All the points you earned by your thoughts on the finals just went out the window.

There is no way in hell all those guys are better than Thibs. That is just stupid.

I will give you reasons that I put Lue on the list.

1. He won a series very few thought he'd win.
2. He made adjustments. First with rotations then with strategy.

He stopped playing Frye and Delly. Realized they were liabilities and moved on.
In terms of strategy he went at Curry and put Curry in screen roll situations which exposed Curry's lack of defense.

Thibs never makes adjustments. He prepares well but never made adjustments from game to game.

Against Miami it was painfully obvious that Kyle Korver should never have played yet Thibs kept trotting him out.

Against Cleveland Dunleavy was abused by Shumpert and Smith yet he continued to play him.

Offensively that dribble handout was trapped repeatedly with guys just leaving Noah to double team yet he kept running it anyway.

Let's revisit in t wo yrs. Really the only guys that are questionable are Stotts and Clifford. I will take my chances with any of the others.

I don't know if we can really answer that at the moment considering he's been out of the league for a year.

That being said, I'd go Popp, Carlisle, Kerr, Lue, Casey and Stevens before Thibs at the very least.

He gets all the credit in the world for his defensive schemes, there's no questioning that, but he severely lacked in the offensive department as well as minutes management.

The Bulls offense was better with Thibs at the the helm than the offensive guru they brought in to replace him. And Butler averaged a whopping 1.8 minutes less per game this year than he did last year, yet suddenly minute management wasn't a talking point this season.

Brandon Rush is 31? Who knew? Also not a big Cole Aldrich guy. He's like Eric Montross 2.0, but hey bench depth.

It's early. It's summer league but Kris Dunn looks like he is going to be a player. Matched up with Mudiay and more than held his own. Big guard quick off the bounce and defends. Rubio can pack his bags at some point this season.

I don't think they will trade Rubio. I think they'll allow him to walk if Dunn's decision making is sound.

I like how Thibbs is so terse with the media about injuries. I wonder why?
