It kinda makes sense that JORR would be one of those cycling rage machines.

The rage machines are the impatient turds in automobiles who tailgate at 90 mph every morning.

There's a mental and emotional defect that motorists have when they see a cyclist on the road. For example, if you're behind a school bus going 20 mph, you may be slightly annoyed but the veins in your neck don't pop out and you don't start raging as if you're insane the way they do when you're behind me going 20 on my bike.

Lost in all this is that a 300 lb 7’6” dude was riding a bike. A preposterous visual.

Good news is if they're going 90, they're not tailgating you for that long. Have you thought of using the sidewalk?

I am usually shocked when I see a group of people on a bike not doing anything stupid. The folks riding bikes on Wells -in Old Town- run stop signs as a group nearly every morning. I'm surprised someone hasn't done more than just blow a horn. I had a guy on a bike shoot through an "alley" on LaSalle and hit my car about a decade ago.

Nothing worse than a bike lane turning a double laned street into a single. Thanks a lot, Trump supporters.

Because you have tiny little brains and don't realize that if every cyclist were instead driving a gas guzzling piece of shit SUV like your own your commute would be much longer.

If we put a few more people on bikes I promise you’d see those COVID fatalities fall off a cliff. Fatties dying like you read about.

No shit. Motorists don't take safety seriously. That's why most of them are triple vaxxed and double masked as they drive recklessly on 294 at 90 mph an inch from your bumper and constantly changing lanes. And drivers are so fuckin' innumerative they can't do the simple math that tells them all that dangerous driving and risk they're taking is gonna get them to their destination a few minutes sooner at most, and that's assuming they don't crash or get pulled over. The more you drive the less intelligent you are.

It's not an Illinois statute but it is clearly the defacto law in the Chicago area.
Defacto law is not the same thing as "perfectly legal"

You look silly when you rail on motorists for breaking the law and then admit you don't follow the law on your bike.

In any case, there's this popular assumption that the automobile is the default and it just isn't the case. That's why people are shocked when a cyclist rides on the Interstate but they shrug off the Amazon van parked in the bike lane.
Are you riding your bike on the interstate?

I don't hate them. Like drivers, some of them are fine. Some are insane. But any of them that piss and moan about about cars not giving them space or turning in front of them or whatnot, then half a block later they roll thru stop signs or red lights without a care in the world come across as LTG levels of insane and disingenuous.

Its a two way street, so to speak.

All the more reason the onus is on bikers to be more careful and follow traffic laws while on the streets.

Furious has talked about booting ankle biter Bob, but he's also posted about riding his motorcycle and making sure he is visible to the cars on the road. That is HIS responsibility as a motocyclist. As much as you may want it to be, its not my job when cruising through a green light in the city to make sure some biker isn't going to jump out in front of me after he pulls an illegal "Idaho Stop."

That's a persuasive argument to get rid of bikes on roadways with cars though.

If bicyclists are constantly breaking the law around 3000 lb. death machines and getting hurt/killed isn't the logical solution to separate them from the 3000 lb. death machines?

Is that what’s happening? No driver has ever been responsible for inuring a cyclist?

JORR's point is that both cyclists and car drivers are constantly breaking the law but the difference is the bicyclist is in a more vulnerable position based on weight differences between the two.

I'm not so sure he believes cyclists are truly actually breaking the law.

Yes. There are weight differences between cars and bicycles.

It's the drivers that are constantly breaking the law around cyclists.
