This is why there shouldn't be any sympathy for him.

They would have been better if they'd simply kept Wiggins and not resigned Thompson/Smith.

These moves were made to appease James and now they may be cooked for years to come.

The salary of their starting five alone is almost equal to that of the entire G.S. roster and it's the fault of LeBron James.

The Cavs are losing to an all time great team. No shame in that.

Agreed, they caved and let this clown be the GM, this is what happens. If the refs didn't let them hold and grab last year and suspend Draymond..they don't win dick. I can't wait til Boston beats em next year and reps the East for the foreseeable future.

And they've made 3 straight finals, and will probably make the next 3 as well.

Total failure.

James and Irving alone gets you out of the east and he did nothing to bring in Irving. They moved Wiggins because he didn't want to play with a rookie. Wanted Love and that really hasn't panned out. Love rarely impacts games, particularly big games. They can't play Thompson because of his offensive limitations and James held a gun to their heads and made them resign him. He held out on resigning until they did. Also pushed for the Smith trade and resign. New York wisely resigned smith for 6 mil a year and Cleveland reupped for 15 a year.

Cleveland has by far the highest payroll in the league and will be hamstrung to make any major moves going forward. They have one more conf finals in them and its a wrap.

Not sure where you're going here. You want the league to step in because a franchise was/is too good? That's a pretty hot take.

Going to three straight finals and winning one was the worst thing LBJ ever did. Don't know how his legacy is going to recover.

As a leader of the NBPA he also pushed for the immediate acceleration of the cap last summer which gave the Warriors the room to sign Durant.

I don't exactly recall you having high praise for Wiggins, but now the Cavs should have kept him? And he'd have been an impact player for them unlike Love ? Who you crappin

He clearly would have benefited from a GM with the kind of vision of John Paxson.

One could argue he did. Cleveland kept winning the lottery after LeBron left. Then he returned to a better team.

If I'm the Cavs and trying to win an championship right now, Kevin Love makes sense over Wiggins. Other than that, it's been some bad moves for James the GM. Thompson in particular stands out, and Mozgov sat the bench after all that hoopla in '15. Channing Frye made some sense to me but that's been a bust. I still think Shumpert was a decent move.

Outside of acquiring Russell Westbrook I fail to see how any move the Cavs could have made make them better than GS. They're the underdog and rightfully so. Signing someone other than Thompson or Mozgov or any of the other role players everyone is criticizing here wouldn't have made a difference against GS.

Yep they should have kept him. Partially about Wiggins but mostly about Love. I tried to roll with Love but I can t do it. Wiggins would have been cheaper and probably a better fit. Love isn't impactful enough for the money that he makes. I think it also may have something to do with James. James doesnt want to play with post players because it clogs the lane. Love can shoot but he was more effective around the bucket. Playing with James he became primarily a 3.

It's not just the offense. Love is atrocious defensively. That was on display the other night. I'm not sold on Wiggins but I think they would have been better with him.

You don't know that for sure and you still don't hamstring your franchise with dead weight contracts. You bash Paxson for Wade and Rondo but those aren't long term contracts. They both will be off the books after next season.

I'm simply agreeing with you that the last three years of Cavs basketball has been an awful flop, a disaster.
