WOW! I heard that during Mac & Spiegs' chat with Bulls' TV voice Neil Funk within the last few minutes. Even though Kevin Durant is still there, that's a big blow for the Thunder's chances to return to the NBA Finals. |

Well all the Westbrook haters are getting what they want. Now Durant can take 75 shots per game. Thatll work. |

Should be noted...a meniscus is NOT an ACL or MCL. A meniscus is what World Peace recently tore & had surgery for only to return in 12 days. |

Wow, bold move. I don't see how this brings them closer to winning a championship. |

Patrick Beverley is enemy number one in OKC. |

OKC might be ok if Westbrook can return for the WCF. I think they can potentially beat LAC or Memphis without Westbrook. |

These playoffs are really being decimated with all these injuries, not a whole lot of great teams out there. OKC was supposed to be the one possible challenge to Miami, considering how embarrassing and worthless the eastern conference is. |

Keeping Score wrote: Here's Wojo: Thunder guard Russell Westbrook to have knee surgery, return this season uncertain Oklahoma City point guard Russell Westbrook has suffered a slight cartilage tear in his right knee and a surgical procedure in the next 48 hours will determine the possibility of his return before the end of the playoffs. Westbrook suffered the tear of his lateral meniscus in the second quarter of Game 2 of the Thunder's first-round playoff series with the Houston Rockets after Rockets guard Patrick Beverley lunged at Westbrook to make a steal as the Thunder guard signaled for a timeout. Westbrook is "irate," with Beverley, a league source told Yahoo! Sports. The meniscus tear is considered to be minimal – perhaps 2 percent of the meniscus, one source said – and Westbrook's recovery could be weeks instead of months, if the doctor decides to simply "clean up" the meniscus. A full repair of the meniscus would likely mean a three-month recovery for Westbrook. The Thunder and Westbrook don't want to risk anything with the long-term stability of his knee, sources said, and aren't pushing for the short-term solution over the longer-term procedure. Westbrook, 24, is an All-Star and one of the league's top point guards. His absence is a severe blow to the Thunder's chances of repeating as Western Conference champions. The Thunder hold a 2-0 series lead over the Rockets, with Games 3 and 4 moving to Houston on Saturday and Monday. Westbrook has never missed a game in his five-season NBA career, playing in a possible 439 of 439 regular-season and playoff games. He averaged 23.2 points and 7.4 assists during the regular season and is averaging 24 points and seven assists in the two games against the Rockets. That was a b.s. play by Beverley. I know it's done quite a bit, but the guy lunged at Westbrook and totally caught him off guard. Didn't have to happen. I'd be really pissed with Beverley too if I was Westbrook. |

OKC was supposed to be the one possible challenge to Miami, considering how embarrassing and worthless the eastern conference is. It's Miami & everyone else in the East, and that includes the Bulls. Out West, Oklahoma City & San Antonio are thisclose in the West with Denver & the L.A. Clippers (You read that right) not that far behind. That Denver team may be void of actual stars since Carmelo Anthony left for New York in a midseason trade a couple years ago, but that's a fun team, even without Danilo Gallanari, out with a torn ACL suffered near the end of the regular season. With their first round series vs. the Warriors resuming in Oakland on NBA/ESPN2 this eve tied 1-1, can the Nuggets win on the road? ESPN's Stephen Bardo actually picked Denver to come out of the West during a chat last Friday night with The SCORE's Laurence Holmes. Powerhouse, you're right about all these injuries & the lack of quality teams in these NBA Playoffs, even before the news of Russell Westbrook's injury this morning. |

If he was Derrick Rose he would probably be out until the all-star break or possibly even the 2013-2014 season. |

This could obviously really benefit San Antonio, who in my opinion pose a bigger threat to the Heat just based on the match-ups. |

Speaking of the Spurs, with Steve Blake & Steve Nash now joining Kobe Bryant on the sidelines, do they sweep the Lakers out of their misery? Game 3 happens tonight on NBA/ESPN at 9:30P-ish with a 2-0 Spurs' series lead in Los Angeles. |
