From what I hear, you usually decide a poll is more fun... :alien:

Even though Bulls' HC Tom Thibodeau deserved consideration, what Mark Jackson has done in 2 seasons with the Warriors is unbelieveable. Keep in mind Jackson was with ESPN/ABC and didn't necessarily have any coaching experience on any level prior to getting the Golden State job. Besides, he's gotten his team farther than George Karl has in Denver, and they only considered the regular season body of work. In my opinion, Jackson, not Karl, should've been COY in the NBA this season. I went with the Golden State HC in this poll.

I'm surprised Coach Thibs, a previous COY winner himself, was only 8th in balloting considering how little he had to work with, the fact every starter missed at least 1 game, including his star point guard all season. I don't know why guys like the just fired P.J. Carlesimo in Brooklyn & the soon-to-be fired Vinny Del Negro with the Clippers got more consideration than Thibs.

Once.

There has been a HUGE string of first round exits during his time there also.

Right, I know. I was just pointing out the factual error
Unless he meant it to mean this year, in which case that would be pretty obvious, seeing as Denver lost to the Warriors and all...

I took SHARK's comment as meaning this year only.

Re-reading it, I agree, i'm sure that's what he meant

It is this year, guys. I thought I read that 3 of George Karl's teams didn't advance far in the NBA Playoffs during his career. I know he also coached in Cleveland & Seattle before the last 9 years (!) in Denver.

How did your meeting with Hammond go?

Well, since my agent didn't show and kept his identity hidden, not good.

I only needed one vote; sue me.

Karl won because of cancer. Period. Paragraph.

PJ didn't win because, ironically, his team chokes far too often for the talent.

I see what you did there. That Nets' team actually was healthy, but it couldn't beat a Bulls' team with Luol Deng sidelined due to a nasty spinal tap procedure, Kirk Hinrich with an injured calf and Nate Robinson vomiting at one point on the Bulls' bench?! No wonder the Nets got rid of him!

I imagine a young Regular Reader, Karl "Thibs" Jackson and their friends as the cast of Cooley High.

For the moment, he's still the Clippers' head coach, but chances are pretty good a second straight 1st Round NBA Playoff bellyflop will eventually cost VDN his job.

It's my understanding Vinny Del Negro is scheduled to be a guest on "The Dan Patrick Show" in the AM.

Where can I find such programming here in Chicagoland?

Hello? McFly?! NBC Sports Network, DIRECTV's Audience 239, DanPatrick.com or some obscure AM station that now calls themselves WCKG-AM way up the AM dial, not sure where, weekdays 8-11A (CT).
