If the Reds end the evening 5 games out of first, there's a four-way race in the Central. Now that would make for a fun September.

I find it troubling that a team that is 10 games under .500 is considered in the race.

Has anyone watched the NL West all year? You have 4 teams within 6 games of the leader and the worst of those 4 is 3 games over.

But it still doesn't improve the quality of play in 2007, and it doesn't preclude a team from getting hot at the right time.

All this above is true. All I'm saying though, is that the Central being known as a shit division is not a fair assessment. The last three WS feature a team from the Central. In '03 it was almost another one. Why can't the East be the shit division? Atlanta wins what, 13 or so consecutive titles? That's a sign of shittiness. Ain't it?
