Im sorry but UNLV's teams could give bad NBA teams a game back then.

I know that because they DID a year later when they were all drafted and became instant contributors.

What changed in those 7 months?

A game for a half and then still lose by 20.

Alabamas football team is not beating the Jags

UNLV is not beating the Bucks.

Griner is not playing in the NBA

It would be bad. Real Bad. Some of those Alabama players will make it in the NFL. All the players on Jax made the NFL.

Conns, Ive seen you post those track times before. I dont think that proves anything here. Yes, men are generally faster, but speed isnt everything.

Killer V could out rebound Curry.

Are men afraid of women being better than them generally or just when it comes to something that is physically demanding? If you have girls, what do you tell them? I'm really curious. There are often VERY strong opinions whenever woman vs man debates are brought up.

I disagree. That team had ready made stars on it.

A rookie all star team could certainly compete with the worst team in the NBA right?

What if all 5 starters came from one college?

Would they immediately be able to compete upon signing the contract?

I agree.

I was talking about basketball specifically. Football is a waaay different story.

A college all star team (Which is what UNLV was) could compete with the worst team in the NBA. All the players in the NBA werent college all stars.

Similiarly, Stephen Strasburg could have easily shut down several MLB teams when he was in college. Probably Prior too.

What about that UNLV teams bench? Or the fact that only three of those guys became had long NBA careers?

I think they could go one game playing all 48 mins.

Larry Johnson would be the best player on the floor. I think they'd keep it close.

I'd tell them that they should try and be the very best that they can be. My parents made it very clear that it was going to be nearly impossible for me to play in the NBA.

I agree with you. No football team would stand a chance but a great college team might. I wonder what some of those UCLA teams or even Jordan's teams in college would do against the worst team in the league.

I was going to mention something similar. Once you get past the stars and/or semi-stars on college teams, you have guys that rank barely ahead of your average walk on. Think Steve Wojciechowski or Trajan Langdon. The average NBA bench has at least 3-5 mid-round picks, and perhaps a failed lottery pick or two who still belongs in the league. Those guys can hang with a college star, and kill everyone else.

You can look at their stats from the next year when they were all in the NBA. Clearly the UNLV guys are better.

Seriously, though. Could you imagine the crushed egos and hurt feelings if she were to show up to Hoop XIIV?

As Nas said, I think a lot of the hang up with men is the ego thing. I'm all for giving anyone the opportunity to prove themselves...

This team would beat the worst team in the league. There is no doubt in my mind.

Sam Perkins
Brad Daugherty
Kenny Smith
Michael Jordan

looking at that I will retract my statement. UNLV could beat the Bucks.

But that still does not mean Griner could be a 12th man on a NBA team.

Yes, Im saying they play like a week after the tournament.

I just dont get how it all changes in 6 months when they get drafted

If I said a rookie all star team could beat the worst team in the league nobody would scoff. But same guys six months eariler...RIDICULOUS

This is what makes you sound like one of those republicans. Just because something may be true for MOST doesn't mean it should apply to all. This has been proven. Sure there are things right now that MOST women can't do better than a man (the opposite is also true) but that does not mean that a woman like Griner can't be the exception.

Huh? What are you talking about? All I said is there are physical and biological differences between the genders, because you denied it when JORR said it. I didn't say anything about there being no exceptions. I think you just look for any chance you can get to call me a Republican.

Ask JORR where I stand when it comes to women vs. men in physically demanding jobs.

I was just throwing that bomb back at you. We are in agreement then. WE both believe that there are exceptions. Women and all ethnic groups have proven this. I believe someone like Brittney could be an exception. I would love to find out one day.
