Didnt even attampt to give it a go on a minor knee tear in a playoff game. Rivers played the whole second half with a more severe tear..you couldnt get farve or rodgers to sit out.. he wasnt a competitor.

Perfect Stafford/Cousins battle - 1 guy threw three picks, the other guy lost

Stafford should have had 5 or 6 picks in that game. He kept throwing the ball to purple.

McVay must've felt confident in Stafford after a couple of wins to open up the playbook again....and then that's what he gets, you get a pick, you get a pick, you get another pick. anthony barr's a linebacker with 3 career interceptions in 95 games prior to today, he now has 5 career interceptions.

Good news for the Rams is they've moved into the 2nd seed, which means they'll likely get a home game against whatever shite team falls into the 7th seed in the NFC (Taysom Hill or old Matt Ryan or whomever is QB for the Eagles that week). And then (most likely) the hobbled Bucs in the 2nd round instead of the Packers, in LA again. As long as McVay works his magic they have a shot at losing to the Packers in the conference round--which will be far less of a disappointment than any prior Matt Stafford playoff appearance.

Stafford slowly trending toward FF's forecast. However, will not agree that he's interchangeable with Goff.

Slowly? Did you miss his three consecutive pick sixes in 3 straight losses earlier?

Anyway, Ive always said Stafford is slightly better than Goff but the gap is not significant and not worth two 1sts. So far that looks true.

Counting on Matt Stafford to win 4 straight playoff games seems like a poor decision.

He's not a winner.

All you have to do is watch McVay during the games. It’s clear he realized Stafford isnt the answer he thought he was.

The interception to OBJ in triple coverage was something, how can an NFL QB see 3 dbacks running way downfield with one receiver not immediately find and hit the wide open guy. Cuz if there are 3 defenders chasing Beckham downfield, someone's open somewhere.

He's Kirk Cousins with better stats.

You know in the end that he'll fuck you.

Maybe McVay will have him only throw short passes in the playoffs. That could work I guess.

I get the normal idiots on here doing their thing. But Zippy is a smart football fan who has watched Stafford in his own division for a decade now. He surprised me.

The common reply when anyone in Detroit would question if Stafford was all that would be "Stafford's the least of the Lions' problems" and people would move on to complaining about something else. Plus Stafford and his wife were very popular on and and off the field in Detroit; did a lot of charity work, played every game it seemed, played through injuries and he's a likable sort. Going to the Rams and having the roster isn't up to snuff excuse removed and folks judging only on his play on the field the warts that were always there ( sub 10% record against winning teams, 0 for in playoffs, pick 6 machine) now appear glaringly huge and unmistakable.

No doubt.

Stafford is a tough mfer and generally seems likable as you said. But yeah he definitely has gotten a pass from a lot of folks for playing for a “shit franchise”.

It's gonna be funny when the Packers collapse after Stafford lights up their shitty defense. I'm willing to wager a crisp 5 dollar bill on it! LOL

Gotta admit he's sort of coming apart at the wrong time.

There is no chance it happens, but it would be pretty amazing to see Stafford come into Green Bay and knock the Packers out of the playoffs after all the crap FF has talked about him.

Agreed, but I think it would be even better to see Mike McCarthy come into Green Bay and wallop the Packers. Not that I want to see Jerry Jones get another Super Bowl, but still that would be fuckin great
