This is nonsense. There are many people that would not consider him the most overrated, awful announcer in Chicago history.

You are obviously welcome to your opinion, but this is a really bad one.

Did you listen to the Monsters back in the early days of the SCORE?

There's a better argument for Terry Boers being the most overrated Score host, and I like Terry more than North.

Hand up, I never loved Terry.

He had that Bill Murray quality where people treated his every move like it was funny even though it wasn’t even an attempt at being funny.

“Terry…where’s the manometer?”

“Uhhh…ummm…uhhhh…Man, man, Isle of Man. The Isle of Man.”

Hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha

You like St Louis pizza and never liked Terry.

Just go ahead and stick your head in an oven or something. My gosh man.

I do not like St. Louis pizza, specifically. I had fine pizza in St. Louis. It was like going to Your Pie or Mod Pizza. I don’t think the city has a style of pizza unto itself. Their most notable contribution to cuisine is Panera and/or slicing bagels vertically.

Ok well that is a little better then.

The city does not have a pizza of their own, but they think they do and always tout the great St Louis pizza. Bleh

They do have their own. It's all about that weird, rubbery processed cheese and extremely unleavened crust.

I still want to try Quad Cities pizza. There used to be a frozen kind but I don't see it anymore.

Most unlikeable and unlistenable people of all time score and shows

1. Mike North - Both
2. David Haugh- boooooooring, vanilla is they come
3. Terry Boers - Bernstein could have done solo, with North most overrated
4. Goff and Bernstein - as a show, the worst ever because of Goff

Best of the score
1. B&B in early 2000s because of Dan
2. OB and Doug Postgame - Meatballs yes, but they were great after a loss
3. J-Hood when on Score
4. Danny Parkins - Guy is extremely talented. I don't know if his national show will hold up, but he will be in national media one way or another till retirement. Guy is really good.

listened from day 1..

not a big fan of boers...who's name and looks match recently fired stars coach de boer. was better when serious.

bob hillman was a disaster...his colleagues mumblings about this and that, didn't help his reputation. dave baum was a radio pro. professionalism and class were there, had no sport takes. buffone and van lier were brutal as a team, much better individually, talking about the bears and bulls.

up to me, i'd given swirsky, giangreco and maybe roan a chance at their own show(s).

Monsters was a great show and many would consider it the best show during those early years. I was always more of a HFC fan, but they really went together. I think there is a good argument to be made that at the very least Monsters was 1b to HFC 1a.

North was a blowhard and he got way off the tracks at the end. But in his hey day he was must listen.

So I do not think he belongs on any unlistenable list unless the only North you knew was the very end.

Monsters WAS the best show during that era. Hands down. HFC a close second. It was appointment radio all freakin day to me.

HFC was appointment until the sun went down and the NW signal cut out.

Didn't know Quad Cities pizza was distinctive enough to have its own Wikipedia entry.

Man, for the days when the biggest complaint about the Score was "the station from Dallas fades in and the Rangers or Stars game interferes with the HFC or Murph for the last half hour before they sign off"

"Malted crust, cut in strips with scissors" is distinctive, but it also feels like making weird shit up for the sake of creating something distinctive. Like, if I had to imagine a pizza style associated with a small metropolis that one would not think would have its own pizza, I'd probably imagine cutting it in some dumb way.

I get its an unpopular pick on North....but I personally think he was and always has been a blowhard, liar, not knowledgeable on sports.

Good call on Terry Boers and Bill Murray who made it. Murray did have some funny things, but most overrated.

Really not everything that was old score was great. For instance, boers and Mac great. Boers and Bernsie bad.

Also I grew up in my whole life in Chicago. Must be a bunch of pussies or the need to differentiate from deep dish… but tavern style as a saying can die in a fire.

It's a fairly recent development, like mid-to-late 2000s. I grew up on squares of Rosati's and Malnati's and never once heard it referred to as "tavern-style." It probably started around the same time that everyone started pretending Chicago drinking culture revolved around Malort.

"Quad City Pizza"?

Never knew it was a thing? After living there for 4 years during college, I can say Alfano pizza is the best in the area, with Harris Pizza
second. Many locals in QCA would probably list Domino's as a top 5 pizza in area. The funniest thing about Pizza in QCA, is they all have
a "Taco Pizza", which is a pizza with lettuce and crumbled Doritos on top. It sounds crazy, but it's actually not bad after a day of drinking.
