The wording of the story implied that Goff was willing to have a daypart so long as he could continue his successful(?) podcast on a medium the station is desperately trying to tap in order to stay afloat. That seems like a win-win for the Score, right?

After decades of Bernstein showing up 10 minutes before his shift started and Boers doing the show from his living room, NOW they decide to dig in and demand focus from on-air talent?

I'd love for just one of the reporters who laud Goff to actually investigate the viewership of his podcast. I think The Ringer gives him a salary, rather than the ratings based pay of most podcasts/youtubes. That is why Jason wants to grip that with both hands. They must feel he fills a void in their network coverage.

and I would never use the words "sharp as a tack" to describe Rahimi. She's never displayed a quick wit. She doesn't provide cutting edge analysis or even the type of insider information you would expect from someone who came up as a reporter.

What makes you think that?

Podcast ratings are exceedingly hard to come by. The Ringer has canceled shows before it's not an indefinite leash. But I suspect Goff is doing just enough to sell FanDuel ads

That said I agree Agrest doesn't know how Goff is doing either. He just assumes the undeniable talent (forgetting it's already been denied many places)

There should be a rule hosts can't monologue or talk with their co-host for more than 10 minutes without phone calls or a guest. Leila and Grote blah blah blah is brutal.

Accidentally tuned into the show for 5 minutes after I got off of work. Conversation topic = MET Gala fashion. Ugh.

They're used to twitch where everyone tells them what a great job they are doing.

I hate to pile on but Leila spends so much time complaining and trying to be humorous while doing so really grates on me. I wish she didnt think discontent was, real or imagined, is entertaining.
Marshall may not be dynamic but he doesnt seem nearly as tightly wound.

She was all complaining about people not liking their noon segment and tried to explain what they were doing. If you have to explain you are loosing! Also don’t talk about Grote’s cat for ten minutes!!

Maybe she could say "the delta" a little more.

How many times does she say some version of "truths" in a show?

Getting kind of tired of people using "delta" when they really mean "difference." If you're just doing plain old subtraction, "difference" is fine.

It's really bad.

When Bernstein was asked, all he could think of was “BOOBS”.

Why are they talking about the Western Conference Finals at all? Is Jason Goff shadow programming the show?

Great segment today with sarah spain. The only thing missing was Dan Bernstein to top it off.

No segment involving Sarah Spain could be great. She offers nothing unless you are a lesbian athlete.

She looked rough. And she was not even showing off her great tits at all. Disappointing.

 What was Spain on there for? Was she recruiting Leila for a reprise of "More Than Mean"?

She has a book coming out in June.

Leila must be getting a lot of hate mail or reading this message board.

She went out of her way at least 3x on Monday's show to mention the hate that she receives. Also, probably 3 separate mentions of people hating woman. And a segment (actually 2-3) with Sarah Spain where people are being accused of being racists, bigots, etc.

Great show, but she loves those listeners!

Oh there is no doubt she reads everything and takes it all to heart. She wears her emotions on her sleeve. There will no doubt be a moment in the future where she is basically in tears during transition and Larry will step up to be her cheerleader and then to tell us all what idiots we are for not appreciating her greatness. I mean you know he found her as the part time guest "monthly visitor" on his old show.

Leila driving the show is not a good choice.

Marshall being on the show adds nothing.

They both feel as if they need to have "hot takes" on Bears rookie mini camp, etc. Neither are funny or interesting.

Leila tries to be prepared and likes to tell "truths", but comes off sounding mis-informed and Marshall just rolls in coming unprepared.

Grote is a nice guy, but there should never be a show "featuring" him. Nobody needs to hear him do the same impression every day and he's not even an average Bear reporter. Another person the station made a Bear reporter without knowing the game beyond casual.

I think they could get away with Leila being on the show, but there's no way she should be the star of it. Marshall just seems to be passing time. I really don't see the appeal to him at all.

Both are still taking the show into left-wing crazy land, not as much as Bernstein was, but it's still creeping in more than it should. Now, with the added bonus of more racism/bigot talk.
