Hey everyone,

I’ve been diving into some sports stats lately (mostly NFL and MLB), and it got me curious about using machine learning to find patterns or even make predictions. I’m not a tech expert, but I stumbled across a pretty solid Machine Learning Tutorial online and now I’m hooked on the idea.

Has anyone here used ML tools for analyzing sports data? Whether it’s player performance, betting lines, or just fun historical trends..what tools or platforms do you guys use? I’m starting simple with Python and Jupyter notebooks, but I’d love to know if there are specific models or datasets that have worked well for you.

Also, are there any local meetups or online groups where sports + data nerds hang out? This forum seems like the perfect place to find others with the same itch to dig deeper into the numbers.

Would love any tips, stories, or even failures you’ve learned from.
