I’d only question his abilities in pass pro as he’s a bit on the thin side but he hits every other mark for a Ben Johnson type.

So all that trading down and for what? A late fifth, a late fourth and ten spots on day two? Seems not quite worth a top fifty selection.

It is way better than trading up like they have done in the past.

From what I have read there are a bunch of guys from rounds 3 - 5 that are basically at the same level. So wouldn't it be better to collect more of that level assets and see if any of them hit?

Your criticism is pointless, because no matter what they do you are going to whine about it. You are the same guy that if they trade away a 6th or 7th round pick for someone you are upset.

Name one good move this team has made since the Carolina trade, and even that windfall will forever be marred by passing on a Hall of Famer for Darnell Wright. They keep fucking up. The same way you can point to missing out on Sam LaPorta for Chase Claypool and Cooper DeJean for Montez Sweat so too will you able to identify players they could’ve had at forty-one that they passed on because they have no idea what they are doing.

They could’ve gotten a 2026 second, instead they get a pair of late picks in the fourth and fifth round.

The same thing was said about the top 75 and look how that went. Tons of O-linemen and D-linemen who were supposed to be available went way earlier than expected. If the guys you want are available when it’s your turn to pick -take one of them. Don’t assume they’ll still be there 20 picks later. At this point it’s a dumb draft strategy.

Imagine Poles calling Philly and asking them if they’d take Montez Sweat for Cooper DeJean. Or better yet, Darnell Wright for Jalen Carter. How do you picture that conversation going?

The Bears were in a position to have both those players.

And if they had both of them you would still be unhappy.

Your point is valid. But it just seems that they have a group of people that they view in a similar fashion and some of them will still be there in 20 picks and so they might as well get an additional pick while getting one of them.

When the Bears do a single thing right I will give them credit for it.

For the Bears sake, hopefully Johnson will have the pull to bring his own guy in after the draft. Poles is in over his head. 5 RBs in the first 15 picks in the 4th round.
