True, but I think City's point was that they were expected to win more than one title with that combination.

I'll go on record right now as saying that Miami with its current core will not win any titles unless they make a coaching change.

I get your point I just think it is unfair to lump West and Chamberlin in with a team that hasn't won anything and is facing an elimnation game tonight. If anything this Heat team is closer to the mid 90s Knicks.

Or even better....the Barkely Pippen Rockets

No, because the Hakeem/Barkley/Pippen Rockets had three stars who were past their prime. Lebron/Wade/Bosh are currently in their prime. I think the late-80s, early-90s Blazers would be more apt a comparison.

Yeah, but they were a team of stars put together to win.

Wade is not in his prime anymore.

Bosh's prime was 65 million years ago

That's the point I was making. Three legitimate superstars and they don't win a championship (yes, Baylor retired the year they won it, they lost the other two) I was thinking West/Chamberlain/Baylor was closer talent wise to the Heat than the Pippen/Barkley/Hakeem combo. Barkely was well done and Pippen was very close.

Shouldn't the past their prime reason obviously apply to West/Chamberlain/Baylor considering when Wilt got there?

Did you really just include Hornacek in the same list as Stockton and Malone?

I just hope that if the Heat lose tonight at the end of the day, all of the people that were rooting for James to fail know that tomorrow they will wake up and have the same life that [they had] before they woke up today. They'll have the same personal problems they had today while he's going to continue to live the way he wants to live and continue to do the things he want to do.

 Well played.

I hope Wade takes his share of the media blame if they lose tonight. For the mos part LeBron has been phenomenal this postseason.

His dad was the dean of discipine of my high school. And it was during their 2 finals years. Looking back on it, I'm surprised more students didn't give him crap about it. But then, he was like 6-foot-4 and very intimidating.

Edit: and apparently he's in the Chicago 16-inch softball hall of fame: http://www.16inchsoftballhof.com/induct ... cteeId=198

That one weak ass foul wound up costing Boston 5 points. Can't do that.

Not to mention he kept giving up rebounds to Wade

Boston is playing stupidly. They should be trapping Lebron at half court to get the ball out of his hand There's not one guy on boston that can run the court with him.

Maybe LeBron didn't like hearing everyone say Durant was the best player in the league now. That was an incredible first half.

You know, Mark Jackson being away from the booth has made Van Gundy's dickheadedness even more noticeable.

I've made this point before, but even going back to 2008, Boston just never makes it easy on themselves. I believe every one of their series went 7 games in '08.

I mean seriously...here's an opportunity to put the so-called most talented team in the NBA away, and the Celtics respond with one of their flattest, most uninspired performances in the playoffs.
