The last two guys he has lost to do not need it. He needs to put over people of the next generation. I want to see him put over guys like Sandow,Ziggler and those on the rise.
At least the announcers made a point that Punk has not headlined a PPV for close to 9 months yet he is the Champ. How many times has Hunter? He is supposed to be so business smart and old school yet it is not coming across in his booking so far. Wanna impress me, put over Barrett.
The matches where okay but I did not feel the story lines where advanced much. We are going to get more Del Rio vs Sheamus. More Punk vs Cena. More PTP vs The Champs. Plus with Hunter leaking he is going to rebuild the tag division he needs to start having more than one match between established teams per week. Some of the lower mid card guys would benefit from this. The pushing of the Divas to the sidelines is a smart move in the short run is a good idea as most can not wrestle due to the fact that Big John would hire models. About the only model he hired that turned out to halfway work her ass of to get better was Maryrese and she left. That division needs to be rebuilt or they need to start using managers and Valets again for the simple reason of your target audience likes to look at hot women.
So now it changes from HHH never puts over anyone to he doesn't put over the right guys
He has put over guys his entire career and yet people choose to ignore it. I doubt anything he does will be right in some people eyes.
He is in a reduced role in the ring now. He is not going to face guys like Barrett. And if he was still fighting those guys people would be screaming to high heavens that he should step away from the spot light.
Like it or not HHH is one of the best ever and when guys like that fight on PPVs they are going to be in one of the last matches. No one complains when Taker is in the final match yet not champ, but somehow it has been become the cool thing to bitch about HHH.
The hypocrisy surrounding HHH has always amazed me.
Okay, I will give you that. I have not expressed it a lot on here but I have on pure wrestling boards and lists I am on, so I will do so now.
I think the guys who are part timers , like HBK,Taker and even Rocky do the business a huge disservice by doing what they do. It hurts the company in the long run by retarding the growth of new talent because they use up PPV spots, usually at the big ones, at the expense of the newer guys. The guys who are forced to work all the house shows. A lot of the fan favorites are the ones who work the house shows regularly, guys like Christian and Cena for the most part do the circuit. It also hurts morale in the locker room buy holding guy down from moving up. Now I would love to be paid what some of the lower mid card guys get but they work their asses off at the non televised events. One of the unwritten rules was that after guys paid their dues and if they worked hard and where good they would eventually move up and make the real money. Now because there is really only the E and a lot of the older guys are doing the PPV/TV only work is fucking with the younger guys outlook. The E used to be the place where they built guys, not any more. Look at some of the last few guys to come along. Sandow, basically Del Rio without the accent. Rybeck,Goldberg without the pyro. Nexus,New blood redux.
