Thanks in no small part to McBride's brief post in the Super Bowl Menu thread, I decided to leave the hovel and trek out to Katie O's .... well worth the drive and dollar in every respect. The usual good menu, a prime-rib buffet, and tables chock full of raffle giveaways that you were entered into just for coming in the door at no charge. There was also a game's-end raffle of a nice Samsung Smart TV (no I did not win) @ $5 a ticket (very fair). I did acquire a shirt that damn well may fit and a lovely Guinness patio umbrella (and I lifted a cardboard coaster).

"McBride" (I don't know if I'm supposed to use his real name on the board, so no offense just in case!) was, as always, a gracious and interested host to all (not just me), and "Mrs. McBride" was her usual reserved, quiet, demure self (those might not be the most accurate adjectives). Towards the end of the game she announced her intention to seek the Presidency of these United States, and I subsequently announced my intention to move to Austraila ... in light of that I suspect a number of you will be circulating petitions on her behalf.

Anyway, if you've never been, you really should go. If you haven't been in a while, what the hell are you waiting for?

Actually, I did not partake of the buffet .... just decided to have various appetizers .... mango habenero wings were of particular note.

I checked out McBride's on 52 over the weekend. Good food and service. Nice beer selection. The pulled pork egg rolls were fantastic!
